  1. Well done amigo. Ben was an underrated musician. Elliot Easton is also grossly underrated.
  2. Tremendous band. Their first album is an all time greatest.
  3. Think its highly unlikely. Cant see why they'd put a setlist killer like Freeze in there, plus they played Witch Hunt fairly recently on the TM tour. That being said, I think there's a great chance of hearing The Weapon, and outside chance of Enemy Within.
  4. Some of them do, but they don't sound as good as some of the better ones from earlier in the tour. What's the date? Names don't mean diddly to me..... Countdown PE reigns supreme (think its 9/23). I also own a boot of the 9/22 show (which I had the good fortune of attending), also solid.
  5. A lot of noise. Not a fan of this tune.
  6. Simpler the better -- Moving Pictures or Signals tour-type setup would be fine by me.
  7. In order: Best of the best 1)Signals 2)Moving Pictures 3)A Farewell to Kings 4)Caress of Steel 5)2112 6)Hemispheres 7)Permanent Waves 8)Grace Under Pressure 9)Fly By Night Good 10)Counterparts 11)Hold Your Fire 12)Power Windows 13)Rush Bottom tier 14)Roll the Bones 15)Presto 16)Snakes and Arrows 17)Test for Echo 18)Clockwork Angels 19)Vapor Trails
  8. Would rather have a cleaned up, official Anaheim 81 release.
  9. The least glorious material comes after Grace Under Pressure. Anything before, with the possible exception of the first album (to some) is top notch, essential Rush.
  10. Only remember seeing in concert in 82 and 83....though my town in NY didnt get cable till round 84. great stuff.

    Books about Rush

Popoff does it right. The Illustrated History is fantastic, especially the rare pictures. Contents under pressure is also a nice quick read about the albums.
  12. They didn't start the peak until Meddle. Dark Side-Animals is the definitive PF album trio. Correct... but I'd add Meddle as the definitive quartet of Floyd albums. (actually like it better than WYWH). No. WYWH is their BEST album! Realize im in the minority here...but tired of the title track and never liked WTTM... actually find myself going to Meddle far more than any other floyd album these days.
  13. A true original, and one of the all time greats. RIP BON.
  14. Both drummers are ignorantly underrated. Giving the edge to Charlie, who was excellent on the last Stones tour.
  15. Along with Rush, Maiden is the only classic band that still performs at the highest level and delivers every night (imo)...a major part of this is the ageless wonder Air Raid Siren, who sounded better than ever on the last tour. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
  16. :o ..... Just think the lyrics are very corny. Thats cool. I just pay only a little attention to them but I see your point. I just love the "groove", if you will, of the tune... yeah I like it too. I also like High Water. It does for me at least somewhat point to where they were going with Presto. Hear y'all on the groove. The music is solid. Actually like High Water better. HYF is a good album.
  17. :o ..... Just think the lyrics are very corny.
  18. While not one of their best, its certainly underrated. Many good tunes, the only one I skip is Second Nature. And overall its a better listen than the overrated (on this board) Power Windows. The songs are better. IMO, of course.

  20. I think its very likely. Last time was 2002, the song is due. Hopefully will segue into a full Xanadu, like the old days.
  21. I like it too. Its a fun tune. Also dig The Big Wheel, Ghost, and sometimes Neurotica. While certainly not a top album by any stretch, RTB isnt as bad as many say it is. And song-wise, I prefer it as a listen above anything from VT through CA.

    Jacob's Ladder

Jacob's took a while to grow on me, but now I love it. Powerful as hell, and, as mentioned, Alex's tone is fantastic...and theres a great build up to the end. I agree that if played on this tour (and I absolutely think it will be), the die hards will go nuts and casuals will likely be less enthusiastic. Though I do think the song can be coupled with some amazing visuals that can hold attention for the lesser informed. Finally, while NS is great, I prefer the subtlety and power of JL.
  23. Couldnt agree more. Completely ruins Driven for me.
