  4. QUOTE (HalfwayToGone @ Sep 6 2012, 01:32 AM) OK, I need a little help from someone with a readable copy of the book (I now have my 2 LEs but they're both sealed). I've already posted that I bought one silver & one gold. My gold is #220, the frame has the same #, and the manuscript page number is the same also. Here's where it gets a li'l weird. My silver ed. is #74. Is there any text on page 74 or is it blank, an illustration or what?? I can't imagine they sent me #74 if someone else has a frame/manuscript page with that number and not a matching book number, which is why I ask. Anyone have a regular copy handy? Thanks. PS--I hate "replying" to my own posts in a thread. My regular edition is due today from Amazon. I'll be sure to post back as soon as it arrives.
  5. Happy Birthday and many thanks for a lifetime of great music and memories! http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Q1mgYJWduGo/ToVEmHJMyUI/AAAAAAAABrs/CXF_IR6jOa4/s1600/Pink+Floyd+pig.jpg
  6. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Sep 5 2012, 04:43 PM) I listened to Revolver today. Ringo Starr is a damn good drummer. +1,000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000,000, 000, 000!!!!
  7. QUOTE (Thunder Bay Rush @ Sep 5 2012, 08:53 AM) Charlie Watts, The Rolling Stones - possibly the least skilled of any famous drummer in the world. Net worth 200 million. Ringo Starr, The Beatles - same... he sang and wrote a few songs, but he is a terrible drummer. Net worth 250 million. Charlie Watts is one the greatest "Big Beat" drummers ever... ...of course he is no Neil Peart, who was most fortunate that John Rutsey was fired. As for Ringo Starr, George Martin didn't exctly bring him along for no reason.
  8. This is on my wish list ever since I saw Glenn on That Metal Show.
  9. QUOTE (Transparent Green @ Sep 5 2012, 05:05 PM) I haven't read thru every string-related thread...but Nobody's Hero had a string score by Michael Kaman. This one would appear to be a prime candidate for strings. Just puttin' it out there. Agreed...a good choice and a great song!
  10. I'd send along an e-mail to Music Today, just to check on the status. I've had my Newark and Brooklyn tickets for awhile now. That being said, I've never had problems with MT and I'm sure all is good.
  11. I'd love to see them play "Middletown Dreams". I think that, with the string section, that "Jacob's Ladder" is good bet.
  12. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Sep 5 2012, 05:47 PM) The last two tour opening nights saw hundreds of people huddled in one thread as TRF concertgoers fed people here on the board the songs in real time. No reason we can't do that again on Friday night. For those of you who will be hanging out here: Where would you rather hang out? In a thread, or in the chatroom? My thinking is, it might be tough to keep up with the convo in the chatroom as things can go by very quickly in there. Posts in a thread might be easier. Thoughts? I voted for "Let's all post in one thread as the songs are fed to us"... ...I think you are correct when you say it will be easier to follow along. Of course, this creates incredible temptation for those who want to wait until the night of their shows for what songs will be played.
  13. I went to a show with a good friend of mine (Snakes and Arrows Live Tour) who showed me the sign he had made with it's clever meaning that "only Neil would get". I told him that if I was sitting/standing behind him I would be pissed and to leave the poster in the car. Does a man in his 40s really need a perfectly good stranger (who happens to play drums) to notice him out of 15,000 people?
  14. Congrats to Rush!!! The best album of the year in any genre!
  15. I had this poster in High School as well... ...it hung proudly next to my Aerosmith, KISS, Queen and, of course, Farrah Fawcett posters.
  16. QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ Sep 5 2012, 03:40 AM) Freddie would have been 66 today. Happy Birthday Freddie Mercury!!! http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/02027/PD47982125_2027850c.jpg
  17. Saw them open for Rush in 1977...Syracuse, New York
  18. Roy Orbison With Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson... ...the three greatest pop/rock voices to ever grace a microphone.
  19. Get well soon EVH... ...the band has been on such an up swing. Hope he's up and rocking soon. Super Bowl Half-Time rumours are still in the air.
  20. QUOTE (drbirdsong @ Sep 2 2012, 01:55 PM) Here's a link to a video by a friend of mine, Rene Jones. He won the International Country Gospel Music Association Video Of The Year Award. He beat Rascal Flats and Dolly Parton. I can't think of a more deserving guy. He is among the most humble of men and I am terribly proud of him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fn3XVHMKbZg Thanks for sharing this Doc. Heartbreaking and inspiring all at the same time...if that makes sense. I quite like the "Rockin' On The Front Porch" video as well. Old school Americana in a "Oh Brother Where Art Thou?" kind of way.

Lovely photo and a great poster, gotta love the Canadian flag thing! I just saw them in Ottawa a couple of weeks back but was so raptly enjoying the experience and show it never even occurred to me to look at merch. Is that poster something they sold or did you do it yourself? It's very cool. Oh thank you. I did it myself, just to bring to the concert, took about 26 hours in total but I think it was worth it, and also my step-father knows some people so he pulled some strings and I'm pretty sure Bruce Dickinson is going to sign it. I shipped it out, so I'll have to see how it comes back. You drew that?!? +1... ...Fantastic!!!
  23. QUOTE (OGr8imL84AD8inF8sBlackSedan @ Sep 1 2012, 06:22 AM) But the one that really grabbed me was Kiss Destroyer...I was 8 and like WTF is this???!!! I asked my dad if he would buy it for me not even knowing what it was 'cuz it was like nothing I'd ever seen...He said no. Yeah, I was 13 years old when it came out and was absolutely hooked. This album cover gets my honourable mention, that's for sure! http://www.amiright.com/album-covers/images/album-Kiss-Destroyer.jpg
