  1. i remember you talking about Simon. Glad to hear he is still with you and doing good. Did you have two dogs? I did. Lost Lance to cancer three days after Christmas 2017. Now it’s Simon and Don, my SO (yes, the older guy - we’re officially shacked up!) has Zoe, who is five. So I do still have two dogs. Just once I want to have a vet visit without it being a triple digit score! I swear, Simon knows when my credit card balance (usually accrued via vet trips) is zeroed out. I joke that he’s my financial manager - he keeps me from spending money on frivolous things. Such is the price of having an elderly dog, though, and he is more than worth every penny. Sorry about Lance. Especially at Christmas. Congrats on Don. I remember you telling me how nice he was and how he did little things for you. You seemed happy about him. Glad it worked out! And you gained another dog too! I know what you mean about the vet! We have 3 dogs now (the latest is a Great Pyrenees puppy whose 10 months now). The bill just for checkups and Bravecto alone is unreal! You still have the LeStudio stuff? I’d love to catch up. Holler at me sometime.
  2. Nice to hear you have a little more time. I had the same circumstance with a Bordeaux we had a few years ago. It was nice having with us but hard at the same time. Those last few months were really good for me and the family. I hope your time will be as good.

  4. I'm still listening to a lot of Rush as well during workouts. Yesterday I kept hitting repeat on "The Weapon". It's a favorite of mine anyway, in no small part because of the instrumental bridge. But now I am really listening to it. Not to give Geddy short shrift here or anything, but that section is so completely The Alex And Neil Show. You can listen to just the drums, or just the guitar, and be blown away by either one on its own merits....or be rendered speechless by the way the Neil and Alex complement each other. Damn, I will miss those moments. Not fair. And Keith Richards endures.... Love that song. My favorite from Signals. The thing is you can listen to any of their songs that intently and feel the exact same way. I’ve often marveled at the tiny parts each one adds that fits so perfect at that point of the song. For me, especially with Alex. Some of his fills are genius. Agree about Keith Richards. After watching the Grammy’s, add Joe Perry and Steven Tyler to that “not fair” list.
  5. How do you cut the ocean in half? With a Sea Saw
  6. What's the loudest pet you can get .... A Trumpet
  7. What did the drummer name his two daughters? Anna one Anna two
  8. Thanks everyone. I appreciate your kind words.
  9. Happy Anniversary Becky! You’re an asset to TRF.
  10. I had a similar experience with my daughter when she was five during the T4E tour in Nashville. We had seats in the 5th row on Alex’s side. Sam colored a picture of Alex playing a PRS guitar on the way to Nashville after seeing the Cincinnati show the night before. Security let her set it up on the edge of the stage and Alex noticed it during Natural Science. He looked down at it for a few and when he looked up, he had a huge smile on his face. Sam was so EXCITED! Our seats were on the very outside of our row and she was standing there waving at him. He saw her and motioned for her to come up to the stage. He made faces at her while he played then tossed her his pick. Alex’s tech came out and got the drawing. It ended up on Geddy’s refrigerator later in the show. She was so excited! A little later, one of the roadies brought her out a set of sticks from Neil too. From that night on, Rush has been her favorite. Sam is 28 now. We got to see Rush together close to 35 times and created life long memories. We cried together the day we found out about Neil.
  11. If two vegans get in a fight, is it still considered a beef?
  12. Finally made it through the rest of the R40 Blu-Ray today without getting emotional. It took a few days before I could even start watching and a few days to get through it. That show brings back a lot of memories. On to Clockwork Angels now I think!
  13. To Whoever stole my copy of Microsoft Office, I will find you... You have my Word.
  14. That’s exactly what I said to my wife the other day. Being a fan for their entire career, it seemed like they were always in my life. The combination of them retiring, Neil passing, and my worsening MS, I’ve never felt more mortal.
  15. Am I missing something here? Granted, I haven't skied in forever (since getting a concussion on my second trip skiing), but isn't snow one of the essential elements of a successful ski venture? I think that's why there aren't any ski resorts in the Bahamas. (And here you all were thinking it was the hurricanes). As for me - I've added another thing to my Shovel List. (The Shovel List, for those unfamiliar, is a list of things I hate so much I want to hit them repeatedly with a shovel until they cease to exist. The Shovel List is fluid; it can change daily or even hourly depending on my mood. I borrowed the term from an author whose main character was a spicy, sarcastic chick with a lengthy Shovel List herself). New Shovel List item: "Self-care". I am way past done reading sappy references, hearing sound bites, etc., to this insipid new-agey concept. shovel list. That’s a good one. Shovel lists are sanity savers! You can put people, things, words, phrases....anything you dislike on the shovel list. Then imagine actually beating those things to a pulp with a shovel. That is somewhat gratifying. Thanks for the tip. :ebert: I am also fond of saying I don't believe in stuff I don't like. Vegetables? I don't believe in them. Purchase order requests? Vacuum cleaners? Rain hats? Ditto. Yet another excellent concept. I never cared for rain hats myself.
  16. I think Rush Camp has just been around for the last 3 years or so. It's held at some place in the Pennsylvania Poconos where they have cabins, etc. A Neil stamp would be awesome! Brandon Dyke is involved with Rush camp. I would have gone if I could walk. If nothing else just to see Brandon. He’s a very nice guy. A stamp would be cool. I wonder if being from Canada would influence a decision to do something like that.
  17. Good luck Mara. I will admit that a Hellcat fits you like a glove. Thanks! Maybe I'll zip up to Summerville and give you a spin! Nothing would please me more! My phone number is the same!

  19. I’ll play! 1. Hold Your Fire 2. Power Windows 3. Grace Under Pressure
  20. Looks are what drew me to the Challenger in the first place! Rocket ship, lol, I know! I've had nothing but 4 cylinders all my driving life, so I know it's going to take some practice in the high school parking lot (not during school hours, naturally) to get used to a car that goes 0-60 when you breathe on the accelerator. I do have a heavy foot, though I have never had a speeding ticket. Actually I have had very few tickets at all. One factor I have yet to consider is insurance - I have yet to look up rates for "fifty-one year old female, clean driving record, rocket-propelled land grenade". The value of the car alone will probably mandate high Insurance costs. Let alone the performance potential. I bet maintenance has the potential to take a few dollars as well.

  22. All of them are Trooper bait! I like the looks of the Hellcat the best. Actually have a friend that has a pair of them from 2018. His and hers. One is lime green the other is red. Both of them have gotten tickets!
