  1. Couldn't we just put (most) of the Caravan,BU2B topics into this one?
  2. QUOTE (mazyyz @ Jun 3 2010, 10:50 PM)I actually liked the Seinfeld Series Finale. For all the years of their wanton selfish actions, they got theirs. Best sitcom ever and I don't think we will ever see creative writing like that anymore....especially with the plague of reality TV. (Watch Curb Your Enthusiasm!!!) I liked the Curb Your Enthusiasm/Seinfeld finale better.
  3. QUOTE (Ya_Big_Tree @ Jun 2 2010, 12:38 PM) OMG I remember The Sopranos ending.. I was like WTF was that?!!! I guess they all got shot at the diner but you don't really know. I didn't get that feeling that they were all shot. (Left the door open for Sopranos movie.)
  4. QUOTE (analog guy @ Jun 2 2010, 01:14 AM) Second half of Caravan is especially phenomenal. Do I detect a hint or two of La Villa in there? I hear some Spindrift.
  5. Need a couple more listens to warm up to, right now like Caravan a little more then BU2B. I'm nowhere on the same wave lengths as most who posted on here who say they like these new singles better then anything from S&A. To me first impression was they sounded similar in essence to S&A like they could of been songs that were left off that album.(No , I don't think they actually were, just saying.) Neil's lyrics continue the same theme also as Snakes and Arrows, and in particular" Faithless " comes to mind when listening to Brought Up To Believe. * like Faithless & BU2B there both part of the same story.* Like the heavy guitar work, and there interesting just didn't get that WOW!! reaction like most here have, need to give them more repeat shuffle on my ipod. That could be the problem need to have them on CD and play on home stereo.
  6. Not bad for a Readers Digest condensed type version of American History. Leaving out some important moments like never mentioned the Battle of Bunker Hill ( actually fought on Breed's Hill in Boston) And error during Civil War time period , First Battle of Bull Run or First Manassas as called by Southern forces. Implied that Robert E Lee's troops involved and were victorious. Lee wasn't in command nor was he even there on July 21st 1861. PGT Beauregard was in charge of Confederate forces at Bull Run, along with support from Joseph E Johnston troops. Robert E Lee was detached to western Virginia at the time. He became commander of the army of Northern Virginia during the battle of Seven Pines June 1st 1862 when Joseph E Johnston was wounded taking the army over from him. Annoys me that the history channel would gloss over and avoid facts just to give a more hurried up more popular interpretation.... Do it right or don't do it at all!!!
  7. Liked it, I'm so ashamed... Yeah, I can see the rehash of Pocahontas tale, but also elements of Tecumseh the great Ohio Shawnee Indian leader who's attempt to unite all Indian tribes and factions West of the Appalachian mountains and push white settlers out of there lands came close to realization but fell apart. In Avatar near the end talked about gathering of the different tribes to do battle and defeat the Marine intrusion.
  8. QUOTE (mandydog @ Apr 29 2010, 03:20 PM)QUOTE (Tigershark2112 @ Apr 29 2010, 02:55 PM)This is tearing me the f**k apart. I haven't been this mad in a LONG time. I'm on ticketmaster at 10 am the day they go on sale and get DECENT lower bowl seats. Then 4 days later, they have FLOOR SEATS available. NOW THEY'RE SHOVING THE DAMN STAGE FARTHER FROM ME. f**k THIS. I'm not sure who I should be angry with at the moment, but I hope it doesn't end up being Rush. It should be FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. Lazy people don't deserve better seats than me. Yeah I thought it was kind of sad when I first saw the seating map and realized that they were only trying to sell a half arena setup. I can't believe that they didn't know they could/would sell more seats than that. It just sucks that this was the option instead of adding a second show. Oh by the way the Nationwide arena still has the old map on it's site. http://media.ticketmaster.com/en-us/tmimages/venue/maps/ch2/32800s_a.gif And here's the new setup from Ticketmaster http://media.ticketmaster.com/en-us/tmimages/venue/maps/ch2/33011s_a.gif They added a little bump on the end of the stage that appears to have actually pushed bac the front row a little too! Me and my wife might try to go to Columbus show, but try our luck day of show to get tix. Never seen Rush outside Cleveland/Cuyahoga Falls Blossom. I wouldn't want floor seats anyway wonder if sec 210 still is available?
  9. He should interview his latest ex, and ask her those awkward, embarrassing questions Larry's famous for... "Was age and issue?" ... " How was the sex? "Did you have a good sex life with me?"
  10. QUOTE (Earthshine @ Apr 13 2010, 12:47 AM) QUOTE (Xanadoood @ Apr 12 2010, 06:50 PM) If Gilmour isnt involved, then i have no interest. I find tours like these to be lame. Its like going to see a tribute band. The original band is no longer recording, and its nothing but a cash grab. I really have no desire to hear another guitarist attempt to pull of those classic Gilmour solos. The mans tone is legendary. I'm sure they sound fine, but something just doesnt seem right about it. I agree. Besides, Waters need to quit doing The Wall. The man is a case of walking depression as it is and doing this only compounds it. Go make a new album and tour with all new music. His solo albums are depressing and suck, but did like Radio K.A.O.S.
  11. I'm disappointed also there not coming to Northeast Ohio, Blossom or the "Q" in Cleveland on this limited tour as first listed by RIAB. Rush had good crowds at Blossom R30 and S&A 2007. BUT .. I'm sure when the new album is completed a full blown tour will take place. They will most likely play Cuyahoga Falls Blossom. I can't see them skipping Indy or Detroit and Cincinnati where they drew large enthusiastic crowds playing twice on S&A tours 2007/08. Just have to wait and have patience or travel if you REALLY want to see them this year. I still think they might add dates later into the summer...
  12. I want to add, to go along with what Pd just posted although from were we sat for Rush S&A sixth row in pavilion at Blossom, it was loud but a comfortably loud and yes I could converse and hear what others were saying around me. Not possible for KISS circa 1977 enclosed Richfield Coliseum.
  13. No Cleveland,Cuyahoga Falls.. Q/Blossom Music Center date as originally posted on RIAB?
  14. Good post, I damaged my hearing from KISS Love Gun tour, Richfield Coliseum. Fourth row center stage, for three days after could only hear voices in a low whisper tone. Very worried, my hearing did return but I do suffer from the sound of ringing in my ears once in awhile. S&A Blossom sixth row Geddy side, my wife wore ear plugs I didn't it was loud. Both of us work in factories, I work in a steel plant so high noise levels for me I'm use to.
  15. I'm a fan of Ghost Adventures, The leader Zack? is funny reminds me of a WWF star, and at times just as hokey. Occasionally he becomes "possessed" by a spirit It's hilarious and so fake! Of all the current "ghost" shows I like Paranormal State the best they had some truly scary footage more serious approach. Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International have become a bore Seldom do they find anything, they use to... Janie mentioned whenever furniture is reported moving or doors slamming it's always from adjacent room and not captured on film. Ghost Hunters have shown video footage of doors closing and chairs moving on there own. Agree with Tick, Discovery channel "A Haunting "series will scare the Hell out of ya! I have all four seasons on dvd. Can't watch late at night Animal Planet has a new series that is very similar to A Haunting called The Haunted I think the creators have to be the same it's presented the same way as the Discovery show. Right now Destination Truth is my favorite above all, combination of paranormal & mythic monster folklore hunting.
  16. Geddy did a good job with Circumstances last tour, a song nobody thought he would be able to sing again. Sure he would have to sing in a lower key for The conceptual Hemispheres piece but I think he could manage just fine. Doesn't have to scream the lyrics and besides not all of Book II is high notes, peaks & valleys.. T4E tour 2112 in it's entirety was the same way.
  17. QUOTE (daveyt @ Apr 8 2010, 09:18 PM) QUOTE (brokenstoned @ Apr 8 2010, 06:59 PM) Should say: featuring The Camera Eye. I've seen Rush 21 times since 1982 and have seen them play Tom Sawyer 21Xs, Red Barchetta 10Xs, YYZ 18Xs, Limelight 16Xs, The Camera Eye 1X, Witch Hunt 4Xs, and Vital Signs 8Xs....how about Caress of Steel in its entirety? Or Hemispheres! With Moving Pictures short running time (45mins or so), I hope we are in for some more surprises! How about The Necromancer!!!1 Yeah I agree, although it's exciting that The Camera Eye will be played and haven't heard Vital Signs live in awhile, not exactly Earth Shattering news. I'd prefer something more Challenging and farther back in the time machine. Caress, Hemispheres, but who knows with the title of this tour perhaps we will get some more rare blast from the past. Like to hear Jacobs Ladder again that would be a plus!
  18. QUOTE (tangy @ Apr 7 2010, 01:42 PM) also at RIAB which seems to indicate a b-sides tour/old school show was this: Not to be outdone by his bandmates, Geddy Lee contributed the following in a short audio interview with Sandra Miller of Akron's 97.5 WONE on Tuesday: We're kind of looking at a kind of a 2 year plan. A little bit of writing now, getting a couple of tracks down. Playing some songs in the summertime on tour that people are not familiar with as well as bringing back a whole range of older songs. And getting quickly back into the studio again and finishing the album and see what the impact of that is. http://www.rushisaband.com/ Sh*t how did I miss that! WONE one of the few NE Ohio Stations that still play Rush on a semi regular basis. Sandra Miller came on stage b4 R30 show at Blossom. Fantastic news, Blossom on list for this part of limited tour!
  19. Actually I was on a local kiddie tv show in cub scouts called Milton the milkman. I remember Milton getting mad at me, because they had this plastic mouse come down from ceiling on the set with fishing line "the birthday mouse" to sing happy birthday to the kid next to me. Kept coming down in front of me and I would smack it out of my way. While everyone was singing ,Milton in his old fashion Milk delivery uniform was muttering under his breath for me to stop it and getting irate red faced and yet still smiling at the camera. My den mother was pissed, but everyone at school who watched it made me the hero of the day!
  20. I give the nod to Colbert but think Jon is good also.
  21. QUOTE (RUSHHEAD666 @ Mar 9 2010, 10:23 PM) QUOTE (fledgehog @ Mar 9 2010, 06:34 PM) the day i willingly go see Alice in Wonderland is the day that i cut off my own head with a nail file and feed it to myself in the middle of Times Square during rush hour traffic. So in simpler terms, no. Glad to see this poll having a "NEVER" lead. My 13 year old daughter saw the movie with about 20 girls for some birthday party. They all hated it! You couldn't ask for a better recommendation, 13 year old girls hate it!! So it must be good! bet they like the Twilight flicks...

  23. QUOTE (Jack Aubrey @ Mar 9 2010, 05:34 PM) This movie was released the same week as JFK's assassination so it never got much of a chance, but it really is just terrific! Do check it out should you get the chance! I can't recommend it enough. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v329/JackAubrey/soldier_in_the_rain.jpg I taped this off of AMC many years ago( back when they didn't have commercial breaks interrupt the flow of the movie ) Funny and sad movie interesting because it was kind of a role reversal at the time for McQueen and Gleason.
  24. QUOTE (Tom Sawyer @ Mar 8 2010, 01:09 PM) It beat Avatar's opening weekend at $116.3 million!!!!! We saw it in 3D yesterday morning at a b-day request of my son. I kept my expectations at a simmer. Not a huge Burton or Depp fan. I thought Mia was fine. A good film. Not great, not bad, not boring, not dazzling. Good! Worth the price of admission. I'll see it again on blu-ray when it comes out. Enjoyable!!
