  1. Perhaps a bit less MP material this time since they featured the whole album last tour?
  2. QUOTE (Ancient Ways @ Jun 22 2012, 03:26 PM) Kudos to a "pastor" for not dismissing Rush at face value but a real Rush fan would not bring up Rand or objectivism. Really? Why not?
  3. They've been ending albums with something quiet, refelctive and summary for a while now.
  4. QUOTE (treeduck @ Jun 24 2012, 01:22 AM) I'm talking about bands of a similar era, or before, bands that released their first album in the early/mid 70s or earlier and who have continued to release albums to this day or at least fairly recently, or who have racked up at least 15 albums. Are there any other bands that fit that criteria? In the same genre?
  5. QUOTE (Alchemical @ Jun 23 2012, 05:21 PM) QUOTE (CantStopThinkingBig @ Jun 23 2012, 06:01 PM) there's an old saying... if you're not a liberal by the age of 20, you have no heart. If you're not a conservative by the age of 40, you have no brain. This never made any sense at all and whoever brought it up is a moron. So they're under 40 then?
  6. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Jun 23 2012, 08:10 PM) I'd try this, but I don't have ear buds. Or an iPod. I'm probably the only one who doesn't, right? Nope. I have been meaning to get some Bose headphones though.
  7. The open nature of this album should spur book sales.
  8. QUOTE (ucsteve667 @ Jun 24 2012, 03:25 PM) QUOTE (D3strukt @ Jun 24 2012, 04:23 PM) The Watchmaker is the Watchmaker. Simple. Everyone likes to have something to compare it to. But what if there IS nothing? cant think of too many songs from them that mean nothing Mal Nar?
  9. Headlong flight for sure, and I just decided that so no change. And man is it ever going to be epic live!!!
  10. QUOTE (Slack jaw gaze @ Jun 24 2012, 03:06 PM) He's going to end up being more like the Wizard of Oz than a god. I agree. I think he's a tyrant not a god. But it is left ambiguous.
  11. Oh, to be touched by RUSH alchemy. Hey wait! What if she's trying to turn you into something?
  12. We're RUSH fans. Nit picking is what we do. At least those with friends of questionable personal hygiene.
  13. My only wish is the same as the last few tours. If they play Jacob's Ladder I can die happy. Really though, I'll die happy anyway. And it will be a great set as usual anyway.
  14. I need at least one reply to sleep well tonight.
  15. QUOTE (theredtamasrule @ Jun 16 2012, 07:21 AM) Initially I knew this little odd bit was a skipper, it wasn't even a real song. Besides I thought it was placed in a bad spot after Headlong Flight. I maintain that it should follow The Wreckers just because of the characters situation in that song. Additionally I think HF should be the last song, just because I want the last song on my rock album to, well, rock. To that end I have the tracks rearranged to suit my preference. I think it flows better and now, knowing the storyline, having bu2b flow from The Wreckers gives an immediate poignancy. I can almost see the character, having just survived that wreck, thinking the lyrics of bu2b2. I like this little piece now, it fits. Lyrically it's a positive outlook to the general difficulties we all face. And the last line of "I was brought up to believe" can be seen as either a criticism of belief as in "faith" or an affirmation of belief as in "hope". Personally it resonates with me as the latter, he was brought up to believe, to hope...which, in a weird way, can be an analogy for faith. So, acceptance of this odd tune now makes for a Rush album that has zero bad tracks in my opinion. That hasn't happened for me since GUP. So I take it you've submitted your resume to Anthem?
  16. Rush navel gazing has never been so pronounced.
  17. QUOTE (troutman @ Jun 14 2012, 07:51 PM)QUOTE (Weakly Criminal @ Jun 14 2012, 05:41 PM)QUOTE (troutman @ Jun 14 2012, 06:33 PM)QUOTE (Saint NIck @ Jun 14 2012, 04:25 PM)Alrighty, here I go...I'm a very proud Christian of the Catholic Faith. I love RUSH; I use the term "Free Will" very often; and I love "Faithless" and "BU2B". For those who are agnostic and/or athiest, that's their own lives to live. Whether you believe or not, the right thing to do is just be a good person...love one another...or at least try to keep the peace. And never, never, never resist evil. That's just crazy. Just go along to get along and hope you're the last one that the crocodiles will eat. You'll last longer if you feed others to the crocodiles, just sayin'. I don't think that's what he is saying. I think he is speaking in general terms. Like every day life with out the evil aspect. Myself, it's a fine balance when it comes to respect, evil and every day life. I can get along with just about any one. But if some piece of sh** comes fu***** around my place and threatens me or my loved ones. Win or lose, It's not going to be pretty. Uh, no. That's what I was saying. And exactly how can you have everyday life without the evil aspect? QUOTE (ThinkingBig @ Jun 14 2012, 08:00 PM)I'm pretty sure this is what NP was talking about... http://www.suomalaiset.de/kuveja/doubledouble.jpg I'm pretty shure that this was a vauge reference he used to make a point-joke.
  18. QUOTE (They Bow Defeated @ Jun 12 2012, 06:30 PM) Where's the obligatory posting of the waveform images? http://i46.tinypic.com/2wpum1h.jpg It's going to be a long summer, that's for sure. I predict this mastering complaint and the "faith bashing" accusation will be the two rallying cries for the CA haterz. I guess they have to latch onto something since CA is obviously shaping up as a near-classic for Rush. OY!
