  1. I think you might be just a tad naive into what goes into writing comics/graphic novels. You aren't writing the way you write a book, you write a script closer to the way you would a movie. It's not easy, and you'd probably suck at it. Firstly, I am not remotely interested in what goes into the making of a graphic novel (masqeurading as a book) nor it's relevance to film stucture. I have a problem with it being considered an "art form" It appears to appeal to the those with so called "learning disabilities" ADD etc... Where American pharma takes over actual immagination. Sad state of affairs. Finaly yes, I would suck at it.
  2. A graphic novel IS a comic book for sure. But your other comment is total wank and you know it. Why is my other comment "total wank" whatever that means and why would I know it?
  3. They are excellent tools to improve reading skills for people who struggle with reading. Plus, some people just like them. Don't buy it if you don't like them. It could be argued and it has, that comic books, sorry "Graphic Novels" only serve to aid to the deteriment of "Reading Skills" among children and the reliance upon such as to avoid using one's immagination and cognitive skills. I don't like them and I don't buy them. But thanks for the advice...
  4. "GRAPHIC NOVEL" Arrgghh... A comic book by any other name. So called "graphic novels" are written by people that can't actually write, for people who can't read books without pictures. I can't belive that Peart signed off on this shit.

  6. QUOTE (GeminiRising79 @ Sep 16 2012, 10:04 PM) QUOTE (wirushfanfrv @ Sep 16 2012, 12:20 AM) I just got done seeing my 16th show in Chicago. The last three shows I have been at I get the bone head RUSH fans who are white males in there 40s who have this great desire to drink as much alcohol before during and after the show. This time it was four of them with there stupid crew cuts, over weight, one of them had bottles of booze on him that he had to swing in between the beers. Oh then at the end one of them was hitting some weed them almost fell over. The twenty year old fans act better then these yahoos. Idiots! Are you sure they weren't Neil's inner jerkle of security thugs? Oooh, I bet the thought of Neil's big burly bodyguards got you all hot just typing about it ducky...
  7. Totally agree. Smoking has been banned in venues, why can't the same be applied to alcohol? Seriously, Does anybody NEED to get blind drunk to enjoy a concert and then ruin the whole thing by running to the bathroom every five minutes, falling all over the place, spilling drink over everybody throwing up, starting fights etc... Why anybody would pay good money to behave like that is beyond me. "It's a rock concert" state the brain dead drunks... Well it's a performance for me. And as a sober money paying fan, I'd like to watch and listen to the concert without having to deal with a bunch of inbred alcoholics getting in the way. The sooner alcohol is banned from venues the better.

Dear Oh dear... a sad, homophobic fool, thinking that his little "metal" persona along with being a "Dad" will endear him to Rush fans and the interweb in general. No pal, you are a complete tool! Sorry, don't do smilies... Oh Look Another post by another Troll . It is very sad when someone post's something that they think is Witty and Funny . Guess what ? You failed to reach any of those goals . The only think worth responding to in this flat post is "Homophobic" Since one of my Best Friends for close to 30 years in Gay and i have been around more Gay people since than that you can shake a stick at , Wrong. You should really know what the hell you are talking about before you post such shit. Lame Rush lyric reference as well. Bravo Knob, Bravo Here we go..... Well, at 6'2 my kids don't think of me as a troll but they laughed at the thought of it! Oh wait, thats a term reserved for interweb people don't like what somebody has to say... TROLL, gotcha! Gotta love the cliched, "I'm not homophobic, I have gay friends" reply. Dude, you are a thick, pathetic, homophobic little redneck. Do yourself a favour and grow up.

  10. Given the vocal problems that Geddy had during the last tour, (hitting the high notes in their original key) I find this kind of set a completely natural transition. They're not performing this set because they want to, they're doing it because they have to. Geddy can't sing the high notes any longer. Perhaps he can on a one off gig, but not on an extended tour. He's almost 60 years of age and he wears a heavy bass guitar on his back every night... I think he does quite well. Personally, I hate the set. For me, the crack in the wall appeared just after Signals and completely fell apart during the Power Windows - Roll The Bones era. In my opinion, they started getting things back together from TFE onwards and I love CA although the production leaves much to be desired.. I like TBE and TAK but but the rest of the first set is a load of cheese from a decade that taste forgot. Still, Geddy can sing those songs and feels comfortable doing it. So, more power to him and the band. I really hope the tour goes well and that everybody attending has a great time!!
  11. Yes, and I find it quite disturbing.... Alex does the same thing with his guitar parts. I'm really beginning to wonder just how much of this show is "Live" and how much is playback. Funny how the band seem to think the audience actually believes that Alex is singing backing vocals...

QUOTE (ThinkingBig @ Aug 9 2012, 01:44 PM) QUOTE (Terrapin @ Aug 8 2012, 04:33 PM) "My ears need cleaning out" Perhaps, but my ears are still loving the wonderful mixes and mastering of the catalogue prior to 90's albums You mean the albums no one bought? The 90s started with a dancing rapping skeleton and ended with tragedy. The OP is just a baiting, flaming, give-me-attention-mommy hater... Hey Einstein, the clue is in the word "PRIOR" meaning BEFORE. Now, once you have consulted your little dictionary you might be in a position to get your brain around the the understanding of Before and After. It really is a very simple concept... The 70's happened BEFORE the 90's Get it? 70 comes before 90. Much like 1 comes BEFORE 2 etc... Sesame Street explained the whole number concept many years ago... Perhaps your family couldn't afford a television or an education? And no, I don't hate my mother. What a horrible, nasty thing to suggest. The only thing I hate is the mastering of "Clockwork Angels" Do yourself a massive favour and grow up.

QUOTE (Snaked @ Aug 7 2012, 03:31 AM) This is the thread that never ends.... Yes it goes on and on my friends.. Yes and your point is?? "OP" here again... Why it is too much trouble to type ORIGINAL POSTER? I mean seriously, does it take too long to type or is it more internet savvy with the net boys and girls that Peart predicted? "My ears need cleaning out" Perhaps, but my ears are still loving the wonderful mixes and mastering of the catalogue prior to 90's albums If anyone agrees that those albums sound great, then I guess that they need their ears cleaned out as well... Clockwork Angels was mastered for children.. children listening to music on on ipods, crappy little ear buds etc... spending their sorry little lives staring at phones and posting anonymously with silly little "avatars" Indeed, for the digital generation that will never have the opportunity to listen to music as it was originally intended... Anyway girls and boys, I stand by my OP (original post) ;-)
  14. QUOTE (Tick @ Jun 27 2012, 01:38 PM)Clockwork Angels troll call. State your name! CantStopThinkingBig lonelymoon Terrapin We just can't live without you! Love poke! "What a shitty album, I just have to say it." an any others...come on in the waters fine! "Geddy sings like he has mothballs in his mouth." "The Garden is a ripoff of Nirvana. it really is." "Someday you losers will wake up and stop pretending this album doesn't suck donkey penis." Calm down there "Tick" Do you have a therapist? If so, contact him now. If not, get one. When you find one, please do one of the following... Ask him why you are obsessed with a band that you will never be meet. Ask him why you spend most of your waking life posting interweb messages on a forum to people you haven't and never will meet. Ask him why you spend so much time posting little "smilies" in order to further "express" your primitive little emotions... ... and indeed, why you behave like a predictable little "net boy" Most of all, ask him why you have such a problem with people expressing opinions about an album that differs from yours and your subsequent need to to refer to them as "Trolls" Shouldn't cost you much...
