  1. They've been consistently good, to these ears. Really looking forward to the new one.
  2. Always admired them, but of late, well, it's blossomed into unrequited love... Sensational stuff. Countdown & Pretzel are my standouts, but the entire 72-80 output has blown me away.
  3. I've read the 37 pages, my conclusion? You're good people.
  4. At home, in the car, while running, all weekend. Tears streaking my face a lot of the time. But, I'm so grateful for what he and his 2 best friends gave me, and today I feel the fog is lifting. Grateful for ALL the music, the concerts, the roadtrips, the books, the lyrical signposts, THIS FORUM, the friends I've made here and out there, and most importantly, the way the music made me feel.
  5. I found this place because I didn't know any Rush fans in "real life". And thanks to this place I've learned so much about the band, & have been fortunate to meet so many of you, starting off with Madra, at a Peter Gabriel gig way back in 2007.... I cherish so many TRF Rush gig memories, from Glasgow to Holmdel to Hershey to Dublin to MSG & many, many other points inbetween. We were blessed to have known him, & I've been blessed to have known some of you.
  6. Heartbroken for his family, his bandmates, and us.
  7. Hi Pete, long time... You’re taking the piss, right? God no. I love it. That song is pure goosebumps.
  8. Love that song. And those lyrics, oh man. Great album, especially the remix.
  9. Immortals don't celebrate these piffling timeline baubles. But, in case they do....Happy Birthday mister. Rock on.
  10. Some great points. Someone called it a greeting card day or something similar earlier. Quite insulting if you're actually Irish, but not as insulting as the commercialisation of the day, the endless bad jokes, the "St. Patty's" thing, whatever the f**k that is. It's celebrated by us because as a people we've been through 800 years of occupation, a few famines, wars, and emigration. If those who miss home want to celebrate it around the world, good for them. It's still a holy day over here, St. Patrick allegedly converted us to Christianity, so that's still celebrated. When I was a kid it was strictly a holy day. Today, we went for a walk in the woods, there's a chicken in the oven, Neil Young on the stereo. It's a nice family day. Funnily enough, we don't exchange Patrick's Day cards.
  11. It's that day again. Be good to each other.
  12. Debut & Communique for me. And Alchemy, of course. A splendid live album. Walk of Life aside, Brothers In Arms is a great album. Seeing MK in May.
  13. Hey pal, not seen you fora while. Hey Tony, all good, ducking and diving. Hope life is being good to you.
  14. Belated greetings, sir. Hope all is well with you.
  15. Ha! I just listened to that last one earlier and thought the same. How are you doing, Hatch? Still treasure your cd's! I'm great, not on here all that much though, must try harder. Those cds went to the right home! Hope all is well with you.
  16. Fool In The Rain Four Sticks And Good Times Bad Times, what an introduction.
  17. I have one of theirs on vinyl, Nordland. Great stuff.
  18. We'll keep posting anyway. Happy birthday, Lorraine! Only a Zelix miracle would bring her back. :( Truly all things are possible through Zelix. Oh ye of little faith. Well, HELLO! Great to see you back.
  19. It's good fun, but the chronology of some key events drove me batty. Those Freddie rumours have been going around for years, and are now clickbait fodder. But, they could be true, he was no angel. I've read every Freddie bio, from hagiographies to salacious muck-rakers, & the distressing story above never got printed. Regarding the 4-way split royalties-wise, this only happened after Freddie got sick, the time for squabbling was over. The Miracle was the first album where they shared songwriting royalties equally, One Vision & Stone Cold Crazy aside. Prior to this, whoever brought the bare demo or melody/lyric to the group got the full credit. The homophobic 80s British tabloid press were always digging for dirt when it came to Freddie, Elton, Boy George, Holly Johnson et al, they printed outright lies about all of them regularly. And quite a few of these fables are now taken as fact. The one man who could have(because of the alleged timeline, he could have been there) exposed this was Paul Prenter(Freddie's assistant & one-time lover), he took the money & sang like a canary in a 1987 interview with The Sun, a year after he was fired from the Queen organisation. He was VERY bitter, if he had this story in his armoury, he would have used it.
  20. It's all the cabbage and stout. EVERYTHING is faster. And you mean EVERYTHING, don't you. I imagine mixing cabbage and Guinness on a regular basis would indeed keep things vroooming. Yup, I could power a small town.
