  1. gotta have better way of doing this...like having a brightly colored white board on the sideline with the players number that's eligible written on it. or a red sticker placed on the eligible jersey. detroit's offense tends to out-cute itself. they have plenty of talent not to rely on bullshit trick plays.
  2. i dunno....when you have talks of baseball using robo strike zones then you have to ask...why have umpires at all?
  3. hard to bet against baltimore winning the whole thing...as long as jackson stays healthy and under control.
  4. I like Campbell and I think he needs to be coach of the year, especially considering the turnaround since mid season last year. I think they're 2nd in wins since last November. That's alot coming from a dogshit team they were before. Campbell and the Lions need to a) be more selective in their 'gambles' and b) need to realize that 2 or 3 plays will make or break you in a close playoff type game. Barnes whiffing on a sack safety and then the 'boys score a long one. That's a 9 point turnaround in one play. Detroit's Oline sucking on assignments in the first half...way too many missed blocks. Campbells going for it on the 4 yard line when they went backwards from the 2 in 2 plays. Take the 3 points and regroup....and that 3 points would have won the game. That's 12 points they gave up on mistakes which makes the 2 pointer mute. At least they know they can play with the Cowboys and hopefully this fuels the fire. At this point, the playoff matchup is Stafford vs Goff in Detroit. I'll take that since Stafford is not mobile and mobile QBs gives the Lions fits.
  5. 4 clearly superior teams and a pile of mediocrity. Same with the AFC. So much for playoff expansion.
  6. everytime nfl network showed the playoff situation they had to harp..."if the vikings win out, they'll win the division." pfffffft bwaaaaaahahaha suck it nfl network. most egregious non pass interference call late in the bengals game. SOB held him for 10 yards....pull the whistle out of your ass. mullens is an interception machine...just as many picks as TDs in his career. most complete game by the lions in a while. defense finally waking up with important guys coming back soon. with minny twice and dallas once, home field could get interesting. mali...mele....meli...number 6 was a beast. involved in every tackle. i think they found a decent strong safety.
  7. Many of the items were pretty reasonably priced, like 2000-3000. What attributed to the final large haul was the volume of items. Interesting to see all the items and descriptions. Geddy certainly has a keen eye for this and his collection is very eclectic...not just the typical hall of famers signatures.
  8. Name the band the opposite of Rush so it refers to older age. like 'Sloth'.
  9. I tend to avoid concerts or large crowds these days, so probably a no for me. I say that as I'm just getting over the latest flavor of covid. Aside from that, there would obviously be outlets to catch the show or the eventual DVD. I think they ended it just right and I don't have much curiosity of what they would sound like at 70+. With each passing year, they would add to the possibility of 'losing it' due to age. I don't need to see that. There's a number of competent tribute bands if someone really wants to hear live Rush.
  10. The crux of the problem is that the ncaa didn't make it a 8 team playoff from the very beginning. therrrre's your problem. instead of winning 2 games, the winner has to win 3....oh the horror of an additional game! oh wait...maybe in that extra game their top 2 QBs will get hurt and then it's back to a 5 person circus committee.
  11. For myself, I'm perfectly fine with them not re-forming some version of Rush and touring. That said, I'm sure the momentum is building for that. If they did, here' s how they should approach it. 1. Name the band something innocuous like the Lifeson Lee Project. It removes the Rush label and give them more flexibility. 2. Given the rebrand of #1, play songs from their solo material or new material that they develop. The shows could still have 70% Rush material. 3. Get a keyboard player and/or singer. Geddy can still probably sing a few songs that his voice can handle, but I'm guessing it's shot at this point. I would think Geddy would like just concentrating on bass at this point. 4. Any number of great drummers that could fill in. But try to steer away from drum heavy material like La Villa to avoid the Neil comparisons. 5. Avoid the Vegas residency sell out. 7 years since touring can make a huge difference for older guys. If they aren't up to it, then let it go and don't do it.
  12. oh the fsu pity party starting by the mainstream media. does anyone give them a chance with a 3rd string QB? that's why they aren't in. ncaa screws things up like they only could. should have been a 8 team playoff from day one. 12 teams is too much. ncaa basketball tourney has too many and needs one less game. iowa is an example of what happens when you don't have your top QB. fat backup QB and offense was hideous. and yet they were still ranked 16 pre-championship.
  13. Since Out of the Cradle has 365,000 streams that means Tai Shan has at least 365,001 streams. Mind Blown.
  14. Monday night game is a fuckfest. I think the love for Dobbs will be over after tonight...I've never seen such an inept performance by a pro QB. Just as I say that Fields fumbles while in field goal range.
  15. ahhhh backups. dealt with them in many forms over a 38 year IT career that I retired from last year. At first I a skeptical of cloud backup, but now I'm a convert. Too many years of carrying briefcases with backup tapes home every night to keep offsite. Doing backups at work to tape was just too slow and costly and we converted to Veeam shortly before I left. Can't beat em so join em. I just signed up with idrive for my personal laptop. while I haven't needed to restore any files, so far it seems to be backing up just fine. And it's cheap...like $3 a year, or more depending on your volume. A novel thought might be to sign up with 2 cloud services for redundancy. Or go with a cloud backup service and a NAS device, which is a box of drives on your home network for about $400-500. Since you've had issues with one service, I'd recommend a redundant backup service or device to give you piece of mind.
  16. Oh come on now the refs TRIED to help the Packers out. Oh you need a couple extra seconds for the end of the 3rd quarter? Sure no problem. Phantom holding call? Here ya go.
  17. but Jan Smithers was a hotty back in the day.... https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0810453/
  18. well done. i'd only consider Time stand still and BU2B in the 30s to be weak stinkers, but top 40 are strong otherwise.
  19. P/G shows a lack of creativity that a qualified producer might have been able to help with. Even at first play, I thought that all the songs had similar basic minor chord patterns and similar tempo. Very middle of the road album for me.
  20. 4th quarter on top of it...that game was practically over. 95% of the guys playing at that point will be cut next week.
  21. queensryche, ratt relagated to touring water parks and county fairs.
  22. everything i have is blue - the smithereens
  23. oops needed a v valley girl - frank zappa
