It's a wide variety of heavy prog stuff, alt rock bangers, creepy romantic balladry, pop power, Spanish accents, spacey electronics, and lots of doomsday theories. The best album to start with probably depends on what interests you the most out of that, though their 4th album Black Holes & Revelations does a pretty good job of covering all those bases. Which one sounds most like, say, Deadwing or one of the more recent Mastodon albums? Wikipedia states that the singer does melismatic singing. I really hate that stuff - is there a lot of it? I was thinking of listening to some things on YouTube. I'll check out the Black Holes one if you think that's a good starting point. Update: not warming up to it so far. Does it take a few tries?

I know nothing about Muse. What is the best introduction album? It's not all gloomy alt rock junk, is it? It's not like Justin Bieber meets hard rock, is it?

Favorite Canadian Band (besides the obvious)

April Wine would be a contender if they hadn't written so many wretched soft rock songs. Their rockier tunes are great, though. -
This thread has got me thinking of doing up a mix. I think the only way I'd probably go back to listening to Triumph (apart from most of Allied Forces) is to do up a couple of mixed CDs. It would definitely have of Emmett's instrumental things along with the rock tunes I think are pretty good. Then I could leave off turkeys like Magic Power, Spellbound, Follow Your Heart and Hold On.

I'm not sure if the potential excitement of hanging out with one of my guitar heroes could overcome my hatred of golf.

Has anyone watched Castle Rock? There's a scene at the start of season 2 that made me gag. -
Hope it was a good one!

The bass playing on HYF is probably the best of Geddy's career. Hemispheres blows it sky high -
I have one of their albums. Terrible!

Maybe I'll hang mine. Easier to see, too.

Apparently I'm a fan of Lynyrd Skynyrd because I dig ZZ Top. Wrong. This thing will never work for me. Although my tastes are diverse, they're also pretty discriminating based on weird personal preferences. Heart is a bit bizarre, too.

This looks like it's for bands selling their shirts at gigs.

Fold them and stack them? Hang them? Wire or plastic? In a closet? Keep them in ziplock bags under the bed? Display them on the walls? Do you hang them to dry? Upside down or upside up? On a wire rack or with clothes-pegs or hangers? Just curious. I fold mine, so they're always creased . . .

Truly vomitous. Styx is not even close to a favourite band - and it's this kind of song that explains why. Their good songs are great, though.
