  1. I feel like I'm being punked. Nope. Just never interested... You should at least try the very first one that came out in '77. That was our era :) Probably could but I'll pass. All Rush nerds are not created equal... Beauty! If you didn't watch a younglings, then my guess is that you wouldn't enjoy them as an adult. This^^^...

  3. I can't help you but a quick story. Back in my teen years(mid 70's lol) I had a cassette tape player and some Zeppelin tapes and some others. I remember taking it everywhere and listening to these tapes constantly. It wasn't till much later listening to the same music from a different source that I realized my tape player was very slow. Took me a while to get used to the music as intended lol...

  5. Not sure how I've avoided it have never seen one of them. The original was all the rage when I was in high school....
  6. Probably a huge fan of Permanent Waves, based on his comment. Lol. Well it was a great 70's album...
  7. Well he's 5 years younger than I am so his high school/college years would have been early/ mid 80's. I would bet Moving Pictures would have been his introduction to the band. Maybe he was smart and backtracked their catalog...

    Me & 2112

:ebert: The original vinyl was mesmerizing in my youth. I adore side B. Well played...well played
  9. This^^^^. I obviously heard it the day the album was available for purchase. I always liked it but Rio took it to another level...
  10. Golf with Alex was the first thing that came to mind for me. You, me, Mithrandir and Alex would be a fun foursome. A guaranteed great time for sure. It only takes one round to get to know someone real well has been my experience...
  11. Alex by far. I know he's an avid golfer as am I and would love to play a round of golf with him. I guarantee it would be a blast. I rarely drink anymore but would make an exception for him and have a couple 19th hole pops and just talk and joke. Geddy seems cool but a bit to serious for me. If you asked me this years ago I probably would have said Neil but I'll pass at this point. Talk about watching paint dry...
  12. This one will always have a special place in my heart. My first "new release" Rush purchase. Safe to say it did not disappoint...
  13. I took my then 16 year old musician son to a Snakes tour show. I had of course seen them 20 times before since 79' but it had been a while. It was his first live show seeing a band I had been raving about all of his life and he knew quite a bit of their music. The first 30 minutes or so I was just sitting there not very excited apparently and he asked me why am I not excited. They were playing the Snakes songs but things changed quickly thank God...
  14. Pretty damn cool I must say...
  15. Listen to this one Narps: Ahhh this may have been the "Daniel Boone coonskin hat" hairdo days but his voice had matured to as perfect as it ever was. I was oh so close to jumping from the balcony. Officially talked down. Thanks... I love that version too. From the good old days. Yep. The last show I went to before I took my kids in more recent years was in 1987. A great mixture of old and "new" Rush in those years and Ged could still bring it...
  16. It was playing here in Myrtle Beach but I just couldn't bring myself to go. The last one I went to was the Clockwork Angel's one and the vocals made me slowly sink in my chair as the night progressed. I saw them in Atlanta on their(what I knew would be) last tour. Lousy vocals didn't bother me in the least because I just wanted to see them one last time...

  18. I listened to about 10 seconds and sadly had to shut it down. Out of sheer boredom I have actually been checking things like this out lately. None from her however...
  19. I lived in Hanover for 6 years in the 80's. Grew up in PG county.
  20. Well, I lost my sweet Minnie yesterday. She wouldn't eat for a day and half so I couldn't take it anymore. Such a cutie, still feisty to the end, gave the vet techs hell. It hurts to let them go but I didn't want her to starve to death. Hoping she's on the Rainbow Bridge with our other kitties. I have a 16 year old now and understand completely. It's heart wrenching. Bless you...
  21. Big Rush fan here for 43 years now but keeping it real for me at least. I can't imagine spending money and time for something like this. I volunteer working for the class A baseball team here locally the Myrtle Beach Pelicans a few days ago Lou Pinella was there for a signing event. The event and line was happening right out in front of our concession stand and I was thinking these people must be nuts. Throughout life I have been impressed by many people in all walks of life but I honestly have never been impressed enough to go through this kind of thing. In the late 80's I was lucky enough to meet and get a picture taken with the late great golfer Payne Stewart at the Kemper Open in the DC area. A couple years later he was there again and I got him to sign it. I guess that's the closest I've come to this kind of thing. Just being honest but to each their own....Cheers
  22. I prefer to use correctomundo like Jules in Pulp Fiction. Isn't the 'a-munddo' word addition a FONZIE invention? Yes. Jules lifted it from The Fonz...
  23. You would, like, hate My So Called Life, like, a lot. RIGHT? Fixed^^^...
  24. This is exactly my view as well. I did perservere with PoW and HYF, But I didn't get passed the first track on HYF. P/G, PoW and HYF are my 3 least favourite albums. Don't get me wrong I liked P/G then and still do but the handwriting was on the wall. The fact that at 24 years old at the time that I didn't even bother to buy PoW tells me something. In retrospect half of it is really still quite good but that isn't what I had come to expect from my band...
