  1. black midi - 3 phenomenal albums so far. Also enjoying Squid and Black Country, New Road
  2. I'm sure any PT fans are aware of the new album :dweez: https://porcupinetree.com/
  3. Power Windows, Hold Your Fire, Presto
  4. When Hold Your Fire came out. I played the first track, binned it and didn't hear a new album until Snakes came out.
  5. ^ Yeah Claudio Sanchez would make a good replacement for Geddy in any circumstance. Love C&C too. The video was great tvm.
  6. Least favourite are Power Windows and Hold Your Fire. Too poppy, too synthy.
  7. This is exactly my view as well. I did perservere with PoW and HYF, But I didn't get passed the first track on HYF. P/G, PoW and HYF are my 3 least favourite albums. Don't get me wrong I liked P/G then and still do but the handwriting was on the wall. The fact that at 24 years old at the time that I didn't even bother to buy PoW tells me something. In retrospect half of it is really still quite good but that isn't what I had come to expect from my band... Sorry, my comments made me seem like I hated GUP. I don't dislike any Rush album, just those 3 are my least favourite. However, as I missed out a lot of Rush between HYF and Clockwork Angels I had some catching up to do.. So much so even though I now own all the albums in one guise or another I've just bought Sector 3. I've read these are the best masters, so if that's the case I'll get Sector's 1 and 2 too.
  8. 1. YYZ 2. The Camera Eye 3. Red Barchetta 4. Tom Sawyer 5. Limelight 6. Vital Signs 7. Witch Hunt

  11. 17 June 1980 for me. Manchester Apollo Permanent Waves tour. A spotty 16yo.
  12. This was the album that switched me off to Rush. I persevered and was bought HYF as a gift, but didn't get passed Force Ten. When I did come back to Rush a few years ago, I had some catching up to do. But I still dislike this album and HYF as the major low points IMO. Big Money is a horrible opener, though I do like some of the other tracks now - notably Middletown Dreams.
  13. The electrocution scene using a dry sponge in The Green Mile is brutal and cruel.
  14. When I die, though I don't want a grand departure, I've always thought Tears would be a fitting tune for my funeral. I was out cleaning my car the other day, cycling through the Rush albums like I normally do, when Tears came on. Man, I was a mess. I don't get emotional easliy but something in that moment just hit me.
  15. I was a massive JP fan in the very early days, still am, but for me Killing Machine was the last. I really didn't get the direction of British Steel and whilst I carried on getting the albums, I ran out of steam around Defenders. I still have all the albums upto Killing Machine in my car and play them frequently. And I know it isn't popular but the debut still has a very soft spot for me. I wished they had carried on in that more prog vein than going HM. Entirely my views of course.
  16. Haven't seen* and don't want to see: Titanic 4 Weddings and a Funeral Love Actually Mamma Mia * Thankfully nor does my wife - yay.
  17. Preacher - sad that I've finished season 3. I adore this show so much. Next, well as I was in Dubrovnik last week my wife and have started to watch GoT from the beginning (again). If we watch 2 eps a week we'll be up-to-date for the start of the last season next year. No point in picking out Dubrovnik landmark in S01 as it was filmed in Malta lol. Season 2 though - I was there yeehaa.
