  1. Losing It simply asks the question; is it better to have something and lose it rather than never known it at all. It's an interesting question but in the case of Rush, any fan would much rather lose the band now than never to have known it. In some respects, it's not like it is gone forever, I get that. I realize you're just having fun with the play on words but I find it hard to "dedicate" the term "Losing It" to a band that is surprisingly still putting out the most energetic and quality performances of their career.
  2. I have no problem to admit that I balled throughout this entire track. My first new album in which I anticipated coming out was Signals, which also was the first of 30+ times I have seen this band. I was unaware they were rehearsing this and thus was shocked at the biggest surprise I have at a show (and I thought hearing the opening bars of Witch Hunt on the p/g tour was a surprise). And all the emotion for what it took for us to be all still hear in 2015 seeing them live and this sleeper track being played before my eyes by all 4 members who recorded it. And to think I would be watching the soundtrack of my life being played at the best show that I ever saw from these guys towards the end of their careers. The only one who truly Losing It was a few of us fans and for good reason.
  3. To be part of a one time Rush event was tremendous. Not being aware of any spoilers prior to this week, the surprise and hence emotion it brought out of me was predictable. Epic moment and epic show. A historic night for those there, including the band.
  4. Perhaps a whole bunch of tickets will magically appear later but looking at the TM seat map for the Toronto shows, you'd think it was the early 80's in terms of ticket availability...
  5. Based on Neil's comments on the Ladd interview, there is a good chance you will hear it this tour.
  6. When you read Neil's books, you realize that outside of his job, he is just a regular person. In fact of late, he talks/writes more then ever about his simple interactions with people and the importance of this. No theory, his words and not mine.
  7. Starts at 8:00 pm. This event has been rescheduled from 7:00PM to 8:00PM. Original tickets will be honoured for the new time.
  8. Exciting times indeed. Neil is probably in Quebec building up stamina snowshoeing and responding to his partners via email...
  9. Canadian code did not work for me...there is a CITIbank outside of the US.
  10. Incidentally, he interviewer (Derringer) use to call himself the 4th member of Rush in the 80's (i.e. he use to really love the band). Alex wasn't much in to the idea of touring either but is warming up to the idea now that they're getting into the prep stages.
  11. So for Atlanta VIP revealed the tickets you get whereas Buffalo did not. Why one yes and the other no? So for Toronto or Montreal, will it be known or not?
  12. This is the ONLY band I would pay $100 + to see. Still the best value.

    R40 Box Set!

The R40 T4E material is great. Resist has a better mix than the Different Stages version and oh my, Half the World sounds so good!!!
  14. Alex may be enthusiastic to write but of the three, I think he is the least enthusiastic about touring. Neil always talks about the importance of live performance and Geddy seems eager enough too.

    The Weapon

For the inital demo tracks, Alex programmed the electronic drum pads "backwards", in other words, as Neil said (some paraphrasing here...) "everything my left hand normally did, my right hand would end up have to do and vice versa". He then on went on to add "I enjoy a challenge and decided to do those sections as Alex initially programmed them!". So there...that is why it is so tough...thank Alex! (and for Neil to take the path of most resistance as he usually does).
  16. Great album, love it and would like to hear a few songs off of this album, especially songs not played ever or that are not on a live compilation.
  17. A tremendous album and the first one that I awaited a release for after getting into Rush just after Moving Pictures. Remember going to the Planetarium in Toronto and watching LaserRush with the lasers set to all the songs of Signals. Top 5 album for me. 1) Subdivisions (best Rush song ever released to radio) 2) The Weapon 3) The Analog Kid 4) Losing It 5) Digital Man 6) Chemistry 7) Countdown 8) New World Man
  18. A guy that I work with with knows a guy who once met this guy whose sister went to the same school as Geddy/Alex and her niece confirms that this is not true.
  19. I have fond memories of those 2 nights at the Molson Amphitheatre. I was working down in South America at the time and took my only leave of the year to return home for 2 weeks to coincide with those two shows. The most bizarre thing I recall was that the flight path in the morning actually took me over the venue and I actually saw the big rigs unloading and thinking...later tonight I am so there! Went home but could not sleep a wink, I was too excited. I remember at the time that they were filming for it to be released as a DVD. At the beginning of the second set when they began TFE, the light from the far back that was focused on Alex was late, i.e. the playing started well before the light on him. I recall saying to my friend, that won't go over well for the DVD. Oh well, something that will be touched up... They were great shows, enjoyed them tremendously but look back on that tour with sadness recalling the tragic events that occurred shortly thereafter in Neil's life...
  20. Jays are awful on Friday's this year, hopefully a better result tonight with Geddy there. Hope he enjoys the game,...unlike the Orioles, the Jays are done playing at home until April.
  21. So typically Geddy (even with the baseball reference to challenge Randy Johnson) and so typically Rush. Class act and very funny.
  22. Bastille Day. Love the track on ATWAS but do not care for the vocals on the studio track.
