  1. Loved the 1st Montrose album. I saw them supporting Status Quo in Manchester back in the early days and they were as impressive live as on record. Went straight out and got hold of the Montrose album - it still sound a killer today. R.I.P Ronnie - another sad loss.
  2. So sad. I used to love the Monkees - part of my growing up was spent watching their show on TV. RIP Davey Jones.
  3. Its either Vapour Trails or Snakes and Arrows. Hope the new one doesn't fall into this category!
  4. Jim Dewar - sang on the first classic Robin Trower lp's. Beautiful, powerful and soulful all at the same time. RIP - a real unsung legend.
  5. Detective Lone Star (the welsh band) Dirty Tricks
  6. The Bouchard bros are/have joined up and play in the band called Blue Coupe. They have a few videos of live performances on you tube and seem to do a few cult classics. Have to say the live vocals on these are pretty ropey but you get storming versions of songs such as Hot Rails to Hell and Nosferatu with Jo on guitar! Going back to Club Ninja, it has two excellent songs in Perfect Water and Madness to the Method. Would love to hear a remaster of this album.

    ABC 1974

Love it! Also read somewhere that it is taken from a second source, however it sounds great to me. The opening riff of Finding My Way sends shivers down the spine! They do sound young though!!!
  8. 74-75 - The Connells. The music seems to fit the video perfectly. The sense of the passing of time is so sad...
  9. Hot Rails To Hell - BOC Lips in the Hills - BOC Cities On Flame - BOC Napolean Bona Part 1 and 2 - Budgie In For The Kill - Budgie Changin Times - Nazareth Anything off Sabotage - Black Sabbath 747 Strangers in the Night - Saxon Queen of the Deep - UFO Finding My Way - Blackest Eyes - Porcupine Tree Atomic Punk - Van Halen Everybody Wants Some - Van Halen
  10. Apart from the first 3 studio albums, Cultosaurus Erectus is a personal favourite. Killer riffs, lyrics and a sense of mystery which make classic BOC very hard to top. Always liked Mirrors although it got a lot of stick for being too "polished". I was lucky enough to see them on their first ever tour of the UK when they played Manchester Free Trade Hall (saw Rush play there on their debut UK tour as well!). Can still remember these shows like they were only yesterday. Awesome!!!!!!
  11. Power Windows just shades HYF for me. Can not say any are stinkers though - love them all. And just what is wrong with Superconductor?? Saw them play this live and it just rocked (with the bouncing bunnies!)
  12. This strange engine is awsome live. Steve Hogarth's vocals are stunning. Going back to BOC, The last Days Of May on On Your Feet or On Your Knees is the defining moment for this song.
  13. Got to be Rush. Followed very closely by Blue Oyster Cult (original line-up).
  14. Blue Oyster Cult - "Hungry Boys". Buck lets fly with a machine gun battery just before the last verse/chorus. Stunning
  15. Have to agree re John Wetton. Would also add Steve Hogarth....who would have made a great replacement in Genesis for Peter Gabriel !
  16. Quite an interesting read until I came to the Counterparts bit. Subpar??? In my opinion its one of their best! Just goes to show you can't please everyone and people see the same things differently.
  17. Tears for Fears. Everything they've done - just think Roland Olazabel is a genius and doesn't get the credit he deserves.
  18. The Dio era for me. After that I found them a bit too middle of the road for my tastes. The live album kicks some serious butt. I saw them at Wembley Arena, London when they had the full rainbow lighting rig - very impressive. The night before Blackmore had thrown a strop onstage and refused to do an encore. Guess we were lucky!
  19. Sniff n the Tears - "Drivers Seat" Golden Earring - "Radar Love" Deep Purple - "Highway Star" Just put them on, turn it up and cruise..........
