  1. They can do whatever they want with that first set. Don't touch a freaking thing on that second set.
  2. Absolutely. No f'n way I could sit there holding my camera while in the audience for that show. Many thanks to our periscopers.
  3. Would loved to have heard Bastille Day, but honestly, how can you bitch about that.
  4. QUOTE (ColdFireYYZ @ Nov 17 2011, 07:23 PM) I agree that Geddy's vocals weren't the best that night but he sounded pretty good for a 60 year old. I wish they recorded the NYC show. Everything was spot on. Me too. Like I said, the SPAC and Syracuse shows, he sounded AMAZING. Like I mentioned, go to youtube and listen to pretty much ANY other date from the tour and he sounded infinitely better. I'm disappointed because I enjoyed the show so much and wanted to relive it. But, I've pieced together the two shows I saw from Youtube and I have my own videos from TM!
  5. QUOTE (Lerxster @ Nov 17 2011, 04:23 PM)Donate your cd and dvd to Tunes 4 the Troops Tunes4thetroops Excellent idea! I'll do that. Just because I don't like it doesn't mean others won't (obviously!). I'm not going to listen to it again. May as well let somebody else. Thanks.
  6. Surely I can't be the only one disappointed in this DVD/CD? Having seen Rush 12 times and owning all live CDs - and even a few bootlegs from days of yore - I can say unequivocally that this is their worst live performance. The music was satisfactory without being memorable, but Lee's vocals were the worst he has ever sounded in any live performance I've heard. The worst part is that this is in no way at all indicative of his performance throughout the rest of the tour. I saw two TM shows at SPAC and Syracuse and he was in outstanding voice. All of the other youtube videos I've seen from TM he also sounded fantastic. Maybe he was trying too hard in this one due to the DVD recording. If you poke around the web, a lot of folks are saying he was under the weather and just didn't feel well that night. If that's the case, then I have to ask - Why not postpone the recording? Surely it couldn't be financial reasons. They must have listened to the recording well before the tour ended. I would think hearing how poor it was that would want to reshoot. It shouldn't matter to them how much it would cost. They made millions on the tour. I can't believe they would put out a live CD with this poor vocal quality. Go to youtube and listen to pretty much any other show from the tour and I guarantee he will sound better than he did in Cleveland. This will be the one Rush live CD that will only get one listen from me. Before anyone trashes on me, I've been a Rush fan since I saw them at a community college in 1974. I have always expected a lot from them and they have always delivered. But that doensn't mean I'm going to praise a piece of work that is subpar (like Counterparts - that ought to get you going!). This is subpar and I'm calling them on it. Thoughts?
  7. So, does anybody see any evidence in the youtube videos from South America that indicate they were recording those shows for a DVD release? I didn't see anything, but I'm not the best at picking up on that kind of thing. Maybe someone that was at one of the shows could chime in? Just curious.
  8. They must release a DVD of these South American shows. Boy, do you guys know how to enjoy a Rush show. I'd love to be in the middle of that crowd. Wish the crowds in the states would cut loose like that. I wonder why we don't?
  9. QUOTE (danielmclark @ Sep 23 2010, 03:51 PM) QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ Sep 23 2010, 02:50 PM) A tour in 2011 AND 2012 is absolutely awesome! You're saying it won't START until September, 2011? I would love that. A fall/winter tour, no outdoor venues... awesome. Fingers crossed that this comes to pass. We would HATE that around here in Syracuse. We don't have an indoor venue that would suit them. That's why it took them 27 years to get back here in the first place. We're hoping for another state fair or summer tour of the northeast!
  10. It really would be a crime if this tour isn't available on DVD. I've only seen four Rush tours, but there are lots of people that have seen most or all of them. The overwhelming opinion is that they sound better on this tour than almost all of them. The setlist is a perfect blend of old and new, and they certainly seem to be having more fun up there than they ever have. It would just be a shame to not have it on DVD. Something else that can't be lost on the guys is the ballooning crowds along the way. There's no doubt that as word has spread via YouTube and conventional methods, that the crowds have grown larger, louder, and rowdier with each tour stop.
  11. QUOTE (Geddycrazy @ Sep 14 2010, 12:30 PM) Driving from NC w/buddy- front row VIP seats baby!- gonna b incredible!! Awesome! How did you score those? Pre-Sales or online?
  12. They didn't confiscate all recording equipment, did they? There's a strange lack of youtube videos from your show. Usually by now, there's dozens to view already. So far, only two from last night (that I could find anyway).
  13. Great job! Those look great for a dark arena. Mine came out lousy.
  14. QUOTE (Kelly D @ Sep 16 2010, 09:17 AM) Shameless self-promotion: Here's my video. Taken from Alex's side so you can see what he's yelling at the tech (and how many glares the tech receives- yikes)! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdBZLguuKec Great job! That's the best indictation yet of how irked he really was. Takes a lot to bring Alex down. Hate to be the techie after that one.
