  1. in the email i got for the classic rock fan pack it says; ---------------- Extended Delivery Dates Please note: If you place an order for a single issue, bookazine or merchandise item with us Friday 3rd February - Tuesday 7th February, you may experience extended delivery times for your order. From the date of your order, please allow 7-8 days for delivery to a UK address and 11-14 days for delivery to a non-UK address. ------ now, since i ordered this in april, would it ship after the release date (June 11 in UK) and then i have to add 11-14 days after that? if this is true then it comes to Canada sometime from the 25- 29, which blows because im gone on vacation from the 19-30th. I also pre ordered the Vinyl album but i changed my shipping time from standard (would have got it june 18-20) to priority (June 14-16) once i realized that i may not get either one in time! i really don't want to buy the CD a third time, so im hoping for a CD-quality lossless rip come release day.
  2. I'd love to see this song live, but if it came down to this one or Kid Gloves, i'd pick Kid Gloves.

it seems as soon as an album leaks nowadays, the label puts it up on a website for streaming. if it doesn't leak by the time Australia gets it, thats when they'll put it up for streaming.
  5. I'm not entirely sure yet... Probably will be CD at home on my AKG headphones, or if i can wait for the weekend (when i get studio time) on Vinyl in the studio.
  6. has anyone mentioned the reverse/phasy guitar sound in the second half of the Far Cry chorus? i didn't notice that until i listened to the 5.1 mix. i also really like that filter sweep on the hithats in The Main Monkey Business at 3:25-3:40. also, theres a vibraslap during the guitar solo in Closer to the Heart -that one got slightly annoying on the 5.1 mix...

  8. QUOTE (mazyyz @ May 19 2012, 06:00 PM) QUOTE (Dylan2712 @ May 19 2012, 03:13 PM) Tom Sawyer Fly By Night/ In The Mood Headlong Flight How can you end the show with a song from the new album??? I haven't actually listened to Headlong Flight yet, but the way its described i think it would work well at the end. depends if people like it or not. i think if anything, they should jumble the encore every once and a while. keep the set the same, but rotate a couple songs into the encore with Tom Sawyer. but they won't.
  9. QUOTE (SchemingDemon @ May 20 2012, 09:40 PM) I got rows 20 and 21 for two different shows, I hope it's not too bad. I was hoping for closer though. I'm 5'8, but I can stand on my tippy toes if need be Im also pretty short (5'5"), is it considered "bad concert etiquette" to stand on the chairs to get an even better view or to maximize t-shirt-catching potential?
  10. Wow, i just really gave this album a listen with an open mind and its a lot better than it's made out to be. listening to it at loud volumes does get a bit fatiguing, but i found lower volumes aren't a problem. Nocturne, Vapor Trail, Sweet Miracle, Freeze, Ceiling Unlimited are pretty badass; they should play anyone of these on tour and i would be happy. i've always loved Secret Touch and One Little Victory, but i prefer the SnA live and remix versions respectively.
  11. I scored second row, a few seats in on Alex's side for the Saskatoon Show. Reading this thread basically confirms my excitement; this is gonna be nothing short of awesome.
  12. Tom Sawyer Fly By Night/ In The Mood Headlong Flight
  13. QUOTE (cygnadu @ May 17 2012, 11:56 PM) I really don't know what happened on Hold Your Fire. Even with the same producer as PW, the album kind of falls flat - I feel the band just over-stayed the synth era by one album and went a little too far into pop production. I suggest going back and re-listening to HYF, i actually love it more than Power Windows! Pop or not, there are a tonne of killer tracks, the majority being upbeat with great bass work, interesting electronic drums and some really sick guitar licks. I've definitely gown to love the synth era over that last few months, and lately i've been listening to Vapor Trails- sort of giving it a second chance.
  14. QUOTE (Alchemical @ May 13 2012, 06:48 AM) I'd rather have Kid Gloves and The Enemy Within I'd rather have all four!!!
  15. They should bring back Fly by Night and In the Mood, in the encore, as a medley, a la All the Worlds a Stage. That would be beyond perfect.
  16. In Order, i believe these songs have a very good chance of not appearing this tour; 1) Red Barchetta 2) La Villa Strangiato 3) Working Man Red Barchetta, while my favourite from Moving Pictures, has done it's time in the live setting, at least for now. And i think Rush may also agree. La Villa Strangiato is an awesome little jam and i believe they like playing around with it every night. but if it came down to it, this one should make room for another song around the same length (Jacobs Ladder, perhaps?) Working Man. because of the documentary, and i believe they are still ridding a wave of popularity from that, they may not retire this one so soon. It being their first hit in the US, its nice to put this one in their set as a homage to their past. they also like playing around with the reggae stuff in this one, and that middle section is fun to watch. that being said, it could take a break, at least for the first leg.
  17. no matter, got Row 2 for saskatoon Alex's side!
  18. what are your opinions on best sound? standing floor vs side seating?
  19. what if instead of covering classic songs from bands that influenced them, they cover songs from newer bands that they influenced? EDIT: this is of course purely hypothetical if they even do a feedback 2...
  20. 1) Caress of Steel is crap. except for Bastille Day, and a few snippets of other songs, this album was as bad as everyone thought it was when it came out. The Necromancer and Fountain of Lamneth are disjointed and clumsy. that being said, they would have never come out with 2112 without Carees of Steel. 2) 2112 was my favourite song... just because it was long. in reality, the story is goofy and some sections don't flow together well. i still love it, and when the synth intro came on during the concert last summer, i nearly pissed my pants. 3) Hemispheres, with the exception of Circumstances and La Villa Strangiato, is far too overrated. the title track drags on for far too long going on about greek mythology. Then i feel Neil either got really lazy or really high and decided to finish the story with the space guy from Cygnus X1. i don't get it. 4) Cygnus X1 > Hemispheres. kinda goes with the previous point, but i think i have to say it again. 5) kinda goes with #3; The Trees, while having some great musical moments, is just silly. My mom says it reminds here of Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers where the crazy talking trees are all talking and shit. 6) Tom Sawyer is NOT overrated. it is in fact so good, that a cover version is what got me into Rush to begin with. 7) That being said, i wouldn't be heartbroken if i never heard it live again but i would be disappointed. thankfully Rush will always play Tom Sawyer. 8) if they didn't play Spirit of Radio live at the next tour, i would be heartbroken. It is simply, my favourite song ever. 9) Hold Your Fire was the perfect album to come out at the end of their keyboard phase. so incredibly upbeat. Force Ten, Mission, Prime Mover, Time Stand Still... I'd almost say this album is better than Power Windows- and i love Marathon. i think the only reason i bought Power Windows on vinyl was so i could hear Marathon. 10) The rap in "Roll the Bones" is hilarious and satirical. "kick some gluteus max" ? do you not see how not-serious that is? 11) Snakes and Arrows is bad ass. the songwriting kicks ass, the lyrics are nearly flawless, the instrumentals are boss, the production is killer. i love every song and i don't know if Clockwork Angels can beat it. best case senario is that this ends up being modern day Rush's Permanent Waves- Moving Pictures one-two punch. 12) I agree with Neil's lyrics about religion. i don't think he's "bashing" religion, he's just writing what he feels. he doesn't write lyrics to cause controversy or to please anyone else, he writes to sooth his own self; just as any other writer or artist should. 13) i still haven't listened to Headlong Flight. 14) speaking of Headlong Flight... i don't understand what that's supposed to mean. how can a flight be long as a head? maybe more learning, i need. thats all i can think of.
  21. They're gonna play Far Cry. I'm not a big fan of Working Them Angels, but they like playing it, or so i've heard. I think there's a big chance they'll play two S&A songs for sure, and i'd like to hear We Hold On alongside Far Cry. but if they play 3, my vote would go to Armour and Sword, Way the Wind Blows, or Bravest Face.
  22. maybe if you send these guys a message?

  24. QUOTE (Alexmai @ Apr 25 2012, 12:17 PM) http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/news/rush...-order-20120424 It says "mastered for iTunes"??? that just means this specific download was mastered for itunes. the CD/vinyl will be mastered for their respective formats. When something means mastered for itunes, im assuming that they mean they mastered it for people who use smilie face EQ and listen over 10 cent ipod earbuds.
