  1. Life is too short, play the SOB. You value something that no one other than some nerd like us will ever give you an extra fiver for because it hasn't had its cherry popped.
  2. Missed ELP last go around in 86 I believe. College interfered with my rock.schedule. bah! That really bummed me out. I wound up seeing the 3, Emerson lake and Powell, Greg Lake solo and Carl.Palmer with Asia, but never got to see the Real.ELP. I've seen almost 1000live shows, and that's not bad to only miss one thing. Living in and around Chicago my entire life I've been exposed to everything and it's been an amazing musical journey
  3. The.Descendants were in my opinion the originators of this genre.
  4. it's freaking magic. Alex peaked right then and there and just nailed that. I know he went on to compose a lot more amazing music.and write more things and played more difficult things, but the life he gave that solo in that performance was amazing. That entire recording was amazing, period.
  5. No complete song,.save the.ESL.version of LaVilla. That has since the day I brought that double vinyl home.when I was I high school in the early 80s. But the chorus on marathon does every time, the live version of Mission, the Atwas ByTor and watching them just punch the hell out of Working Man last spring(which is a song I don't much care for). Those do it for me.
  6. Yeah. I went. I was about to cry when the show was over. :( i went to their first one when i was in high school. like 1982, i think
  7. I haven't seen a list of shows yet, but I am going to imagine they are absolute rubbish that aren't seeling tickets well and Donkey Shows with 300 pound midgets
  8. Why weren't you expecting anything? Anthrax always delivers. It's been so long I wasn't expecting much to be honest.
  9. This is like Death Magnetic for me, a total win when I wasn't expecting jack shit. This is amazing :)
  10. I bought a Strat last week and it needed a Trem arm, spring and bearing, two knobs(i ordered three in black and three black pickup covers to give it a tuxedo look :) ) and I needed a strap for it so I wouldn't have to take one of of one of my bass thingies. Sooooo, I ordered the strap from Musician's Friend and the Trem arm and black stuff from Ebay and the Spring and bearing from Stumac. So today I get two packages in the mail, one from Musician's Friend and one from Stumac...they're both flippin empty, save the invoices :laughing guy: I want to be mad, but i just laughed. Of all things, I get hosed on two hugely reputable companies and I am sure my trem arm from some goober in Kentucky and the knobs from China will come in pristine and early
  11. I used to let people get away with crap all the time, and it really took a toll on me. Now I just let loose because someone has to raise a huge portion of society. Plus, I'm a really big sob, most people just stop and capitulate. Not that I really ever would hit anyone, I'm pretty much a pacifist. But they don't know that :)
  12. Some? Consideration for others is becoming a thing of the past unfortunately. I'm noticing it more and more. I don't even know of this past! Now I don't want to tarnish everyone with the same brush, lots of people are considerate still which is great, even though it should be a bare minimum requirement for anyone in my opinion, but like you I see a distinct lack of it most everywhere I go nowadays, and it bothers me. I find some people hard to tolerate. This adds to my fear of simply going out to do simple things because of what people might do or say to me for their own little giggles. I've been told that it's "irrational" to think this way. I used to agree but...is it? Really? Some people aren't very pleasant, and I want to avoid them if at all possible...is that really irrational? You'll love this. I was in the Keys visiting my parents in April and mom needed some stuff from Home Depot. As we are leaving the store, there are these two douchenozzles unloading their big orange cart, which of course they put right behing our SUV. Then the dildos leave it there and start getting into their truck to drive off. I just about flipped, but held back a lot and still managed to sound rather hostile when I yelled "You're not really going to leave that cart behind someone else's car and drive off, are you"?Oh, sorry chief, I didn't notice it. Then you shouldn't be doing construction, pal. I'd hate to see what projects made by blind people look like
  13. Dude, That would drive me nuts. I feel your pain. If someone is working at my place I stay clear as much as possible. I know, right? And their house is filthy. I, of course am stuck cleaning filth before I can work, then cleaning my mess, so the house will be getting a nice 260 pound maid for a week.
  14. Some? Consideration for others is becoming a thing of the past unfortunately. I'm noticing it more and more. It blows me away that people raise their children like this and they themselves are not quite as ignorant and oblivious as their children, but damn near. The youngest almost seems like a borderline sociopath. He's just totally not there and 150% about him and doesn't care what he does to affect others. I don't really believe in hitting children, but this kid...
  15. What pissed me off :) So I am working in a customer's house.and both the lady of the house and her rotten kids are constantly in my effin way.Absolutely zero regard for anyone else, or fir the fact that I have to.stop working every time these rude bastards decide they just have to be where I am. I swear, some people are just ignorant, self centered rude garbage.
  16. 6'2 and 270. Id like to see 255 or 245 again, but I just can't seem to get below 265 without sabotaging myself
  17. Rock snobbery gets one nowhere. So many of these guys are friends, and it's not like being in bands are like feuding nations. These guy don't look at each other with disdain and shit on other acts because of talent or style for the most part. Neil would have loved playing with AC/DC or Ratt or Twisted Sister, I guarantee it. It's probably fun for them to get out of their own circle and expand a bit as well. Plus, it's huge for both bands. I bet a lot of fans of both bands aren't fans of the other. Now there. Will be new fans of each.
  18. I have a few pounds of Tannerite. That's a great place to start
  19. I've probably seen 300 shows in small venues like night clubs and dance halls in Chicago and I probably saw a third of those solo. When I lived in Lakeview, I was in walking, stumbling or cab distance to so many places. Acts seen solo Stabbing Westward, Ministry, Revolting Cocks, Pegboy, Fugazi, Smashing Pumpkins, Jesus Lizard, Spies Who Surf, Terminal White, Bhopal Stiffs,Urge Overkill and so many more I have spaced out. Going to an arena show solo would be a bit different and I would probably not have seen as many shows if I had to drive, like I do for the United Center, Rosemont and all the other places in Chicago and SE Wisconsin. It was nice just throwing on a pair of boots and heading out. It's a pain and a process getting into an arena, especially now days.
  20. Eddie Van Halen is an egomaniacal toolbag. DL.Roth is as well.
  21. Got a new picture of my Krissy today :) Selfie day is my favorite when you live 1000 miles apart :)
  22. I totally agree with Nugent and Simmons. Bono and Springsteen are sanctimonious knobs. But you are right. Having different political views does not make one an asshole. Being an insufferable twatwaffle about does though. Nuge is a COMPLETE f***ing douche canoe. Are you in a band? The fabulous douchecanoes :)
  23. I never realized those two grew up in Libetyville. I work in the next town over. Yep, Maureen Herman from Babes in Toyland was also a year older than me. They all took off after high school and hit it pretty big, except Mo. Babes never made any real money.
  24. I grew up with Tom Morello and despite some of his rhetoric and what comes across as attitude sometimes, he's a great guy. He's cool with his fans and treats his friends like family. I also went to school with Adam Jones. Him, not so much.
