  2. QUOTE (Mara @ Mar 25 2010, 07:34 PM) Certain selections from electronica artist Jean Michel Jarre are pretty incredible as well. I can't believe you said that. When I was a younger man (back in the Dark Ages) his album Rendez-Vous was the soundtrack to a year of stoned love-making with my Australian girlfriend. Man, that just brought back a flood of memories. Thanks!
  3. Vertigo sucks! I had a serious bout a few months ago. Did your doctor give you exersizes to do (head motion stuff)? It really works. Hope you can rally and enjoy the show!!!
  4. QUOTE (madra sneachta @ Apr 18 2011, 07:30 AM) Oh, the thread was redundant after the first few posts, I'm just hanging around until Treeduck reveals the identity of the chick with the KFC bucket on her head That's not a chick. That's Brian Carroll (AKA Buckethead). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckethead

But now I'd love to just party with the from the front row for 3 hours. 11th row is the closest I've ever made it since I started seeing them in 1991 and that was this past weekend in Hershey. Might splurge on the next tour for first 3 rows if available. If anyone has any tips for getting first 3 rows without knowing someone I'd love to hear it. Ditto for me. I've got 13th row for Portland this year, and that's the closest I've ever been. How anyone can get the first few rows without paying an arm and a leg to a scalper, or by knowing someone is beyond me. The options through Ticketmaster, like Premium Seat Auction and VIP Packages can sometimes really be worth it (relative to scalpers). We drew 4th row center for Las Vegas this time around. Those exact seast are selling on Ticketliquidator for $802 each (plus the massive fees). We paid $700 for both, and got the VIP swag (DVD, CD, Shirt, Poster, etc.). Still not the cheapest tickets, but it can be done. I got 3rd row dead center for Vegas last summer through TM Auction. Paid 700/ticket but they were exact center, and were quite a bit cheaper than the brokers were getting for this show. One thing to consider with the TM Auctions is that the price you bid is the exact price you pay, There are no additional fees or charges which make it not a bad deal sometimes. Ive gotten 5th row a couple of times for California shows on the auctions for around 300 bucks. Good point about the fees. Yeah, we're 4th row dead center. I felt really good about that draw. We've been 2nd and 3rd row before (at Marysville and Reno) but paid scalpers much more than what the VIP Tickets cost. And there's always the thought that the band is getting their fair share of those tickets, rather than people profitting for doing nothing but hogging tickets. I saw a listing for The Cars show we're going to on eBay, someone was selling 26 tickets in a block...no splitting. How the hell does someone get 26 tickets??

  7. I wore the grooves off this album when I was a younger man. Into the Lens is full of awesome and win.
  8. I've seen M&G passes for Las Vegas too. $2000 each. As much as I like Rush, I just couldn't do that. I'll just have to hope for a lucky draw in one of the contests.
  9. QUOTE (Earthshine Emmeline @ Apr 13 2011, 02:13 PM) I JUST started listening to PT a week or two ago, they're great I LOVE Deadewing That's awesome! Deadwing is just about perfect. They have so much great and varied material. Once you get hooked (and you will) be sure to check out the Arriving Somewhere video (Live in Chicago). And by all means, TURN IT UP!!! Enjoy!
  10. QUOTE (Tony R @ Mar 29 2011, 09:58 AM)QUOTE (Todem @ Mar 29 2011, 05:19 PM) QUOTE (Pound of Obscure @ Mar 26 2011, 02:54 PM) Haven't read the last 155 pages, but finally bought The Incident. Had looked forward to it as I loved the last two efforts. But what an absolutely vacant album. Keep listening, waiting for something to happen and there is just nothing. Disappointed. Not sure what they were shooting for here, but it sounds to me like they had to put an album out, but had no ideas. It really rewards you after repeated listens. It is not a very accesible album for PT. And after the last three and half (Nil Recurring is just amazing too) they had a huge task to put out another steller album. I think they did. There are some amazing songs on The Incident (Blind House, Draw The Line, Time Flies, The Seance, Remember Me Lover). My wife who is also a huge fan is not a big fan of The Incident either. Live....it was brilliant. But I do have it rated overall below the other aforemetioned albums. Live it was awesome. It was a pleasure just to see them pull it off with such aplomb and prove that they are up there with the very best when it comes to live performance. I loved The Incident. The tour was great (we saw it twice). Remember Me Lover is as cool as the other side of the pillow.
  11. QUOTE (Rush! @ Apr 10 2011, 10:43 AM) My favorite songs are Bad Moon Rising, Lodi, Commotion, Looking Out My Back Door, & Run Through the Jungle. How about Fortunate Son? Great stuff.
  12. One of the best American rock bands ever. Willie and the Poor Boys and Cosmo's Factory are both must-haves, IMHO.
  13. QUOTE (Soni @ Apr 7 2011, 12:41 PM) Roger Water July 1st. That was the best show I've ever seen in my life. Unbelievable. Enjoy it!!
  14. QUOTE (Ultra @ Mar 26 2011, 05:00 AM) Peter Gabriel on June 10th He is the last of my favorite artists to catch live, and the one I have been waiting to see live for a decade. The last live show he played in my area was in 2003 and I was too poor for that. Ive seen Rush, Roger Waters (because there is no Pink Floyd), The Who, David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Radiohead, The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins, all multiple times. But never Peter Gabriel until now. I've seen Peter Gabriel before. He is very, very good. You'll enjoy that. I didn't realize he was coming so close. Anyway.... The Cars in Oakland May 13th.
  15. Setting Rush aside for a minute.... Deadwing - Porcupine Tree Document - REM Achtung Baby - U2 Damn the Torpedoes - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Candy-O - The Cars Strength - The Alarm Disintegration - The Cure I'm sure there are others but these come right to mind.
  16. I received my VIP Packages about a week ago, and my show isn't until late June. The T-Shirt this time is pretty cool (if not a bit flimsy). From what I remember in 2010, the shipping status never updated when I checked. They just showed up at the house one day. On a related note, I got an email today that my Starman Flask is finally shipping too. Tis the Season of Rush! Rejoice!
  17. As someone who likes to travel to shows now and then, this is something that always worries me a little. Remember the guy who sued over his missed show because of weather? So first, I always go to indoor shows when I travel. Went to Vegas last time (and the next time too). As far as the flights, well there's only a certain amount you can control. We always go in the day before for a little margin of error. Since we're flying Southwest this time, I've been watching the news thinking I'm glad our show wasn't this weekend. Hopefully they'll have everything patched up by then! In any event, I'm really sorry this happened to you. I missed out on U2 last year because they had to reschedule, and they did it at a time I'm going to be out of state. Bummer.
  18. Looks like the gang's all here!
