  1. As the Guiness Book Of World Record's "The person who has listened to The Fountain Of Lamneth the most times"record holder, I agree 100% with the original post.
  2. QUOTE (Ya_Big_Tree @ Jul 13 2011, 08:48 AM) Heard her interview on Howard Stern a few weeks ago. She's f**king batshit crazy that one. She sounds like she's had a mental breakdown and now she's manic all the time. She'd have to be to keep up with all her kids... sakes. Heard her on Stern as well. Totally agree that she's more f'ed up that I previously believed.
  3. Lakeside Park and Cinderella Man are the two choices for me. Gotta go with COS
  4. QUOTE (Good, bad, andrush @ Jul 12 2011, 02:54 PM) Passed my Calculus BC and English Lit, and I don't mean to brag (okay I do) but I haven't even taken English lit! Congrats!!! My senior year of high school, I took AP Physics, Chemistry, Calculus, and History (US I think). I went to Engineering school. In order to start off with a good gpa, I retook Physics, Chemistry, and Calculus and got good grades in all of them. History was the only AP exam I actually took. Looking back, I was glad I got those early good grades rather than getting credit for them because my grades went downhill afterwards. Luckily after almost flunking out after two years, I hit the books hard and kicked ass to finish in 4 years.
  5. You know it's bad out there when you look forward to your business trip to Miami to escape from the heat. It's only 90 today.
  6. I was in love with Rush the first time I ever heard them. The album was All The World's A Stage. By-Tor was the tune that stuck in my mind as being the coolest track, so that gets my vote.
  7. At least I don't have to question member choices any longer. To me all of these songs are of equal awesomeness. I still haven't voted. Hard to decide. Right now, I'm on the fence between 2112 and Natural Science. I think I'll think about in for another day and vote tomorrow.
  8. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Jul 10 2011, 12:35 PM) of the choices listed, I went with Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead Gotta love Phil, but I gotta vote for Entwistle.
  9. QUOTE (rushforumnewuser @ Jul 8 2011, 09:15 PM) Brian Jones leaving the Stones? In my book, Mick Taylor was the biggest lost for the Stones.
  10. QUOTE (circumstantial tree @ Jul 8 2011, 03:58 PM) For me, when Paul Kantner left Jefferson Starship. He took the "Jefferson" part of the name with him leaving the rest of the band known as simply "Starship". That's when they started to stink royally and wrote the tune "We Built This City".
  11. Cool pics. Must be a pretty awesome combination of coolness and fear when the storm hits.
  12. QUOTE (Rush Cocky @ Jul 5 2011, 08:31 AM) And then they matured, and have since cleaned up their act. Can't think of a single drug any of them does anymore. They all still drink and I believe Neil still smokes.
  13. just saw this on riab. Very cool. Appologies for the size. If someone can make it smaller, please do. http://www.rushisaband.com/images/201107/1954.f.jpg
  14. Congrats to our newest nation that comes into effect at midnight starting on July 9th. I'm not sure of their time zone, but it probably just happened or is about an hour away. I'm guessing that there are no TRF members in South Sudan.
  15. 1. Duane Allman . ABB taking a country/southern direction approach was a horrible experiment. Thank goodness Warren Haynes saved that band and the put out a few decent records in their revival period, but nothing can match their debut through Eat A Peach. 2. Skynyrd crash. I love me some early Skynyrd, but they're pretty much a nostalga act nodays. 3. Roger Waters. Not Pink Floyd without him even though I'm in the Dave camp. 4. Slash - G&R - to me, that Slash tone is the sound of G&R. 5. Eric Clapton's Gibson usage - I prefer the Gibson sound to the Strats. 6. Jimmy Page/Zeppelin - although he was there for the In Through The Out Door sessions, we all know Jimmy wasn't really all there. The only Zep album I don't love. Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix are obvious choices as well but not so much relevent as their bands more or less ended with their demises.
  16. Jimi obviously. Coolest cat ever.
  17. My favorites are (more or less in chronological order if when I discovered their greatness): Rush Led Zeppelin Yes The Allman Brothers The Grateful Dead Jimi Hendrix The Who Pink Floyd Eric Clapton (specifically Cream, Blind Faith, Derek & Dominos) Gov't Mule The Black Crowes
  18. I got this YEARS ago. I figured it was a must have, when an album includes: Jimmy Page, John Bonham, Jeff Beck, and Noel Redding. Although it certainly has it's flaws, I find this album one of my 'guilty pleasures'. I still listen to it every once in awhile. Other opinions?? http://place1.dyndns.org/music/files/images/detailed/661268.jpg
  19. It is indeed interesting to hear how much the band's sound has changed throughout the years. I first heard Rush on a walkman during a camping trip when I was in 6th grade. I instantly fell in love. I recall that it was All The Worlds A Stage. I didn't know the name of the album at the time, but side two of the tape starting with a long trippy song about hell and the river Styx (By-Tor obviously) Anyway, I was so excited to get my hands on a Rush album. A buddy of mine in school made me a tape of his dad's vinyl copy of Grace Under Pressure. My first thought was, "This sucks. It's not the same band. I want the band I heard in the tent." Luckily for me, GUP grew on me and I had the whole collection within the next year.
  20. the difficult thought for me about a co headlining tour is that both bands would play abbreviated single sets (2 hours versus 3 hours). Anyway, since this isn't for real, I guess my ultimate tour would have both bands playing 2 sets for 3 hours each. SO, I choose Pink Floyd. Get Roger and David back together and unfortunately they would have to find someone for Richard's spot.
  21. QUOTE (tangy @ Jul 5 2011, 02:10 PM) RB. at this point, the shorter songs must die! exactly
  22. QUOTE (skalamander2112 @ Jul 3 2011, 01:55 PM) QUOTE (Tommy Sawyer @ Jul 2 2011, 07:37 PM) Pink Floyd - Great Gig in the Sky followed by some lady screeching, then more Rinse and repeat. wow +1
  23. If you need somebody to have a couple beers with and vent, let me know since we seem to be somewhat neighbors. I recently went through the separation 'thing' as well.
  24. tSOR for me again (3rd time in a row)
  25. My favorite on the list is Lakeside Park. Circumstances and The Trees next.
