  1. I voted for Time Stand Still a while ago. And it does get an emotional reaction from me. But I just absolutely adore Prime Mover. It is just absolutely fantastic in so many ways. It is one of the most Deist songs ever. And of course, it is very optimistic.
  2. QUOTE (HowItIs @ Jul 25 2011, 07:28 AM) http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd103/laserspray/Rush/Rush%202011/GedAlVancouver2_4.jpg Caption this one We're Pinky an the Brain. Yes, Pinky and the Brain. One is a genius. The other's insane. Which one is Pinky and which one is the Brain, I'll leave that up to you. Ditto for which one is a genius and which one is insane.
  3. My body would have been recycled, my sould will be in the afterlife. Unless they find a way to prolong existence over 100 years for humans way before then.
  4. Play lawn darts: Alex Read his horoscope: Geddy to make fun of it Pull an all nighter: Neil Go to a stripjoint: nobody unless they are thirsty and there are no other watering holes around. Most likely to: Play Halo: Play Final Fantasy: Play World of Warcraft: Not be into video games at all:
  5. Well, here is what they played on the hard rock station: - Freewill - Limelight - Tom Sawyer - The Spirit of Radio - Closer to the Heart - Working Man (only heard it once) Out of those, I liked Freewill best.
  6. 90s it would be Test for Echo. Unless you consider Presto to be a 90s album. 80s my favorite is Permanent Waves. If you consider PeW to be a 70s album, then it would be a tougher decision. Moving Pictures may be their most successful one- and Limelight is my 2nd fave Rush song, and YYZ my fave instrumental. But Hold Your Fire has 3 songs in it that I like a lot.
  7. Would have to flip a coin between 2112 and Hemispheres.
  8. - Freewill: Choosing your own path instead of being bound by fate or predestination. Also protesting superstition. - Marathon: Giving your best. Ability and effort are what makes it- not random luck. - Prime Mover: Pure Deist song. Praising creativity. - Mission: Praising dreams and imagination. - Subdivisions: Sadly, I was the one that got cast out. - Time Stand Still: But I think this one speaks to everyone. - The Pass: Sadly, I have considered it Why? I was afraid (because of being told by too many people/institutions) that I would not find what I truly wished for the most because I was predestined (is that a word?) for something else. Something that I did not enjoy or was good at.
  9. Do daily household chores: Neil Go ice skating with their child/grandchild: Geddy Smoke a cigar: none cause they're all health nuts Run for a local office (mayor, city council, etc.): Alex Most likely to: Like Legos: Tolerate being inside an American Girl doll store: Collect action figures: Work at a toy store if he were not a musician:
  10. I cannot believe Xanadu has 9 votes. It is my favorite Rush epic. It is my 3rd fave Rush song overall.
  11. The rap on Roll the Bones. The talking skeleton is silly and cheesy...but it fits the lyrics and song. And the rap in the song screams early 90s very loud.
  12. Oh yeah. Especially since I live in FL- albeit in the other coast. Did not get to see the launch- too cloudy.
  13. Woof woof! Howl! Bark! Arf! Grrrr! Rowr!
  14. You play "The Spirit of Radio" on Guitar Hero- and you do the clapping and duck quack calls during the chorus!!! Note- this is only possible when playing the bass parts. Not guitar.
  15. Prefer Star Trek to Star Wars: Neil Prefer Star Wars to Star Trek: Alex Prefer salty snacks to chocolate: Geddy Prefer brownies to cake: Geddy Most likely to: Want to be in an opera: Be followed home by a coyote: Do a song for a Disney movie: Watch Law and Order often:
  16. Dog Years! Let's just say I play it often. And sometimes sing it out loud. In public. Yes, the second chorus too. I like a few others as well. Many are just plain unremarkable.
  17. I can imagine all those things in the lyrics and then some. The closest I have ever come to doing illegal drugs was when some guy in front of me at a concert started smoking a joint- he got arrested shortly afterwards. Anyhow I do not think they did do much- or hard ones. Why? They would be in way worse shape. Look at what health nuts they are- exercising, eating healthy, quitting smoking tobacco, and so on. I do not know what is legal in Canada vs. the US of A- we are VERY strict here, and medical cannabis is only allowed in a few states. But other than the Naples incident, apparently they have not been arrested. Nor do they seem to have suffered financially or otherwise.
  18. As of this particular instant..."Dog Years"! This past week: "Prime Mover", "Mystic Rhythms", "Marathon", and "Mission".
  19. A Show Of Hands. Happened during the 80s. During my childhood. Fun album to listen to.
  20. At this specific point in time: 1) Permanent Waves 2) Moving Pictures 3) A Farewell To Kings 4) Hold Your Fire 5) Power Windows 6) Presto 7) Test for Echo 8) Signals 9) Grace Under Pressure 11) Hemispheres 12) Counterparts 13) Caress of Steel 14) Vapor Trails 15) 2112 16) Roll the bones 17) Fly By Night 18) Rush Not including Feedback- does it count?
  21. I will go with Permanent Waves. I really like Freewill, Spirit of Radio, and Natural Science. Out of Moving Pictures, the only one that really stands out to me is Limelight. Don't particularly dislike any- and YYZ is my favorite instrumental- but otherwise Permanent Waves wins.
  22. Either The Camera Eye or Red Barchetta. None of them stood out at the Time Machine concert. But I'll go with The Camera Eye because it is longer and I have a short attention span- though I LOVE Xanadu and like Natural Science a lot.
