  1. QUOTE (Weakly Criminal @ Jun 26 2012, 08:11 PM) Just amazing how much more comfortable and open Neil is now in an interview. Actually seems to enjoy this one. The energy and enthusiasm is almost startling. Peart: The Watchmaker is the force of order, the diety of order. He seems really excited about the album and the story. He's been quiet for so many years, and now that he is willing to open up, he has a lot to say. I can't wait to read the finished story that he's been collaborating on with his friend.
  2. I can only pick four? Hmm . . . um . . . ah screw it this is too difficult. I like the whole album.

QUOTE (troutman @ Jun 22 2012, 10:26 PM) QUOTE (Dobner has assumed control @ Jun 22 2012, 07:18 PM)QUOTE (D3strukt @ Jun 21 2012, 09:28 PM) QUOTE (Bangster of Goats @ Jun 16 2012, 09:24 AM) ...is the song on CA that, when I close my eyes, I can most most easily imagine Alex in that permed mop hair and platform shoes, Geddy with stringy hair and sans glasses, and Neil in the back with long hair and a moustache. Replace mature-Geddy voice with 70s shriek Geddy on the track and it sounds like something they would have released between 2112 and Kings. This is EASILY doable, by changing the pitch by about 12 degrees. I'm doing it right now. It doesn't give that SHRIEK, but it definitely gives Geddy a better sounding voice. How would one go about changing the pitch of the song? I would like to experiment with this. Fu***** with Geddy's voice is disgraceful. It is what is is. I don't intend to make his voice "better," I just like experimenting with audio. I find it fascinating , though I'm a novice when it comes to that kind of thing.

Who's the double rainbow guy? That sounds funny. It's a video of this guy that is so out of his mind baked looking at a double rainbow...It is funny. You will laugh. Wow that was hilarious.
  7. Those people that don't like Geddy's voice don't have to listen to Rush. However, they can't deny that Rush is one of the all-time greatest rock bands, just because they don't like his voice. If someone hates this band for that reason, I'm going to assume that he/she has a slight mental handicap. Long live
  8. 1. RUSH 2. Led Zeppelin 3. Pink Floyd The rest of the bands I listen to all have equal standing.
  9. QUOTE (danielmclark @ Sep 25 2011, 09:15 PM) Hemispheres by a country mile. Hands down, easy-peasy. 2112 has its moments, but Discovery is possibly in the Top 5 Worst Things They've Ever Done list, and given that it's right up front after Temples, it throws me right out of the song and I skip the rest. That said, Grand Finale is one of my all time favorite pieces of music they've ever recorded. "WE HAVE ASSUMED CONTROL" - indeed. Woah easy there friend, Discovery in the top 5 worst? That's a little harsh, yea it's not one of their best, but definitely not one of their worst.
  10. Rush is on a level above the RNRHoF. No biggie, I like the fact that they aren't a part of that sad excuse of an organization.
  11. I was introduced to this show last year and I think it's brilliant (I'm an American as well). The first episode I watched was "Blink" and it absolutely blew my mind. I think the best thing about the show is that they set it up so the they can make a show about anything, whatever they imagine, they can put on screen. I've been watching it on Netflix.
  12. Very difficult but in no particular order: On the Turning Away Coming Back to Life Learning to Fly Honorable mentions: Wish You Were Here Shine On You Crazy Diamond Yet Another Movie Comfortably Numb Mother Sorrow
  13. I thought the rant was kind of funny, but you know he is just voicing what I think most of us on this site already understand. That is, Rush is awesome and the priorities of the current world are kind of f'ed up. Just give me food, shelter, good company, and great music and I'd be one satisfied person.
