  1. I'm not standing at the stove, waiting (2 months) for the pot to boil. June will get here when it's good and ready......
  2. QUOTE (Babycat @ Apr 15 2012, 10:55 AM) QUOTE (Workaholic Man @ Apr 14 2012, 10:02 PM) http://cache2.artprintimages.com/p/LRG/37/3722/CMNAF00Z/art-print/stoned-again.jpg Great pic! Love it! My brother bought this poster when it first came out, back in the 70's. Our parents had no clue what it was about.....but they thought it was funny....
  3. QUOTE (presto123 @ Apr 14 2012, 06:01 PM) Riding along on a jam section and....bam.....take a detour or tangent off to another section. Love it. I love the transitions, but not the "bams"..... I'll take smooth detours over the rough ones.....kind of like driving, I suppose.....
  4. QUOTE (GUP1771 @ Apr 14 2012, 05:45 PM)QUOTE (trenken @ Apr 14 2012, 05:19 PM) I like BU2B, don't like Caravan at all. I really hate the repetitive chorus, and the entire middle section just feels like it doesn't even belong there, like it was written separately and then just shoehorned in there. In regards to the jam section, really? It parallels with the solo section in Freewill, at least in my opinion and I've seen others share that sentiment. Does the solo section in Freewill not belong either? In Freewill, Alex's lead guitar doesn't sound "shoehorned in". IMO, the rhythm section blends with the lead guitar and makes a great transition to the next verse. In Caravan, the lead guitar gets overwhelmed by loud chords, and then it almost slams into the final chorus. Personally, I would have been happy with the jam section without the lead guitar. It's a GREAT jam. I really like the song, but that particular lead guitar does sound a bit forced......
  5. QUOTE (danielmclark @ Apr 14 2012, 05:02 PM) Maybe I'm just not remembering, but I was listening to Far Cry earlier and it occurred to me, I don't know (or don't remember) if anyone from the band ever said why they included the Hemispheres chord. Any official word that you know of? I really don't think the band has officially designated it (F-sharp suspended) as the Hemispheres Chord. Fans have done that on their own.....not that there's anything wrong with that.....

  7. QUOTE (Majestyk @ Apr 11 2012, 11:43 PM)I'm surprised no one has mentioned Neil's weight...Or lack-thereof. Wasn't he fat last year? He put on some weight, but I wouldn't say that he was "fat". Compared to other 60-ish rockers out there, the Boys are amazingly fit. Geddy looks like he could go until he's 80. We're so freekin' LUCKY that "our band" is going so strong and is in such great mental and physical shape....
  8. It's raining, and I'm sick. And I want to watch da BREWERS!!!
  9. Now, I don't know if it's just me or not, but I see a clock face with symbols in the place of numbers. There's a big hand and a little hand reading 9:12. Behind it is a swirling red cloud. And I suppose a Rorschach ink blot is just an ink blot..... http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_s6Cu32Fga4k/SpbPowNGqYI/AAAAAAAAFCU/y-xOqOOeyJg/s400/Rorschach_blot_06.jpg OMG.....A photo of Geddy's pet guinea pig.....(which, unfortunately, was flattened by the neighbor's old Chevy when Geddy was only 7.....).

  11. QUOTE (savagegrace26 @ Apr 13 2012, 01:21 AM) I see a vagina Whose vagina?
  12. Obviously, the entire image is that of the Universe's cosmic background radiation, which The Watchmaker left behind to befuddle us puny Earthlings......
  13. I'm disappointed in myself for actually reading that pathetic "letter". That's five minutes of my life I'll never get back....
  14. QUOTE (Unobtrusive Companion @ Apr 12 2012, 09:02 AM) Posted this elsewhere earlier, but BU2B2 is to become the shortest Rush song, a whole 30 seconds shorter than Hope! Got to be an instrumental, surely? They might be stealing a page from Tool....... Putting in short periods of strange sounds inbetween songs...... Just to add to the mystique......
  15. QUOTE (JohnnyBlaze @ Apr 10 2012, 04:21 AM)QUOTE (CrossedSignals @ Apr 10 2012, 08:51 AM) http://www.horreur.net/img/laserblast.jpg That looks like B movie goodness!...with a look-a-like Luke Skywalker to boot! Looks more like Luke Methwalker to me......
  16. I have no problem with shorter albums. Quality is far more important than quantity. One feeling I don't want to have is that of "OK, this song is going on too long." Songs like Freeze and The Way The Wind Blows were like that.
  17. QUOTE (troutman @ Apr 10 2012, 07:47 PM) QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Apr 10 2012, 04:44 PM)QUOTE (GeminiRising79 @ Apr 10 2012, 08:32 PM) Nice sketch, but it looks like Geddy has hepatitis. Maybe u should've sketched Keith "Jaundice" Richards instead So, what DOES hepatitis look like in a black and white image, Dr. Gemini? No sh**, Your post was stupid Gemini. He's capable of nothing else. It's a GREAT drawing.
  18. QUOTE (1-0-0-1-0-0-1 @ Apr 10 2012, 12:49 PM) Yeah, I can respect that. Spielberg now regrets changing a few things in "E.T." for the special edition DVD, and returned the film to its original form for subsequent releases. I wish Lucas would take a page from that book, and from Cameron's. There's a large (ethical) difference between a one-time release of a "Director's Cut" or "special edition" version and the continuous remarketing of a film(s) with irrelevant scene alterations here and there, specifically to make another billion dollars in revenue. Cameron and Speilberg could never become the shameless revenue whore that Lucas is. Never.
  19. QUOTE (ILSnwdog @ Apr 10 2012, 01:06 PM) QUOTE (Lost In Xanadu @ Apr 10 2012, 12:26 PM) QUOTE (ILSnwdog @ Apr 10 2012, 11:50 AM) QUOTE (burgeranacoke @ Apr 9 2012, 10:45 PM)I am going to be a bit preachy here... There is no reason to speed, ever. Oh, I can think of many. Not even if you're being chased by a mad gunman shooting at you?? The reason that I use the most. I paid for 380 horsepower, and dammit...I'm going to use them all. This, of course, begs the question: Are these "mad" gunmen actual lunatics, or are they just pissed at you....?
  20. After moving to Wisconsin, it took me no more than six months to lose my license. It took me a while to accept the fact that I wasn't in the big city anymore. It's been almost 30 years now, and I think I'm finally getting used to driving at "proper speed".......
  21. Tried to watch Transformers. Tried and failed......quite the waste of my time.
  22. QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Apr 8 2012, 04:37 PM) i don't know what to expect at this point just because i'm not a fan of caravan or bu2b but we will soon find out. My #1 priority is to try to keep my expectations to a minimum. That's what causes so much disappointment - building up certain expectations and then not getting them..... I hope we can all keep our minds and ears clear and objective, and take the new album on its own merits - and not on what we want it to be.
  23. His tough interviews made 60 Minutes into a TV journalistic juggernaut. He pissed off a LOT of corporate people as well as celebrities..... Rest in Peace, Mike. You made news reporting a good thing to watch.
  24. QUOTE (USB Connector @ Apr 7 2012, 03:54 PM) I would use that room to study and LOVE IT. 60 hours per week of studying in that room. That would be my studying paradise. Dork.
  25. They could always have Alex take over the violin parts and adapt them to lead guitar. That would be a great experiment.....why not? Even then, it's still a downer of a song. I don't think they'll ever play it live.
