Stormtron
I got the Wii U version of Zelda. No interest in the Switch until there's more games.

Is anyone planning on getting one? Wait and see? Not planning on getting one...I am always about 2 systems behind. I actually just recently got an xbox360 LOL If the newest Zelda game is on WiiU then I will probably wait 6 months and then pick up a WiiU and the game. LedRush
I got the Wii U version of Zelda. No interest in the Switch until there's more games. Yeah, as my avatar suggests, I'm a Nintendo fanboy so I know I'm getting each console they make. But Zelda is beautiful, and it does look nicer on the Switch. But there's nothing else on the system and until MARIO comes out (when Arms, MarioKart and Splatoon will have been released) there's not a big reason for a non-fanboy to but the system.

The Wii U was a failure, but it does have a good concept and a bunch of great games.

I think my coworker said he paid $500 dollars for it. Seems steep to me.

I think my coworker said he paid $500 dollars for it. Seems steep to me. The console costs $299, so I'm not sure if your friend bought a bunch of extra stuff (SD card, pro-controller, etc) or if he's counting the game ($60) or if he bought it on eBay. There are about 10 games for the system now, so it is a lot to pay unless you know you're going to get the system eventually (like me) or if you have to have the best version of what is being called one of the best video games of all time (the newest Zelda)(also me). 1-2 Switch is a fun party game, and Fast RMX is a gorgeous racing game like F-Zero and WipeOut and it only costs $20. If you like those genres, definitely pick up those games. Otherwise, I have to wait until April 28 to get the newest MarioKart.

We might not agree on football, but you have fine taste in video games! I am purposely holding off on getting a Switch since I just bought a PS4 several months ago, though BotW looks awesome as hell.

I have one of the normal ones, and I don't have a 4K TV so I don't think there's a point in me getting a slim or a pro, but I don't know anyone who has one so I don't know if there are any substantive benefits to them for me. Your friend is obviously single...I'm about 15 hours into the game and I haven't beaten the first dungeon yet. I've gotten there, but there's so much else I want to do I've just decided not to tackle it yet. I'm not willing to call it the best game ever yet, but it's a damn fine game, that's for sure. I actually don't know! It's not a pro, that's for sure. I'll have to check when I get home later on. I only have a handful of games so far for it: Disgea 5, Dragon Quest Builders, Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3. Of these, Bloodborne gets the most play by far. I can't devote a lot of time to the console lately, but I do plan on trying to beat BB eventually (using the starting hunter axe).

Disk98
I might get one eventually, but I'm not dumping $500+ (when you factor in the system, Zelda, screen protector, carrying case, charging grip, and the pro controller) on what is essentially a glorified Zelda machine, especially after all the launch issues. The Switch seems like an unfinished product to me, and there are no games for it yet. Maybe when Super Mario Odyssey comes out I'll think about it. I love the idea of taking my AAA gaming experiences everywhere I go.

I love the idea of taking my AAA gaming experiences everywhere I go. The only launch issues I've heard of are very rare, and you don't need all that stuff that you mentioned...except Zelda. But $400 is a lot to spend on a Zelda machine, even though a few of the games (Fast RMX and 1-2 Switch) are quite good for their genres.
Thebuckeye2112
I am planning on purchasing one, probably just so I can play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild maybe Super Mario Odyssey, but definitely NOT Splatoon 2 besides if i want a somewhat cartoon-ish first person shooter I will stick with Team Fortress 2.
