As long as I have them in my lap, I may as well pop in ESL and watch Xanadu.

I love that version of Xanadu. Wish that DVD had the entire show.

Yes, me too. Never understood why it didn't and what happened to the rest of it.

Also wish they had back then the equipment they have today.

Oh me too. Someone needs to invent a real time machine.

I think the booklets are little replicas of the tour programs, aren't they?

I wouldn't know, but maybe someone who was at either one or all of those shows can tell us.

Yes they are replicas of the tour booklets. :-)

I want to Gush Over Earthshine.

One of their best songs. If one thinks about the title, the meaning... quite scientific yet beautiful.

Very progressive and modern.

There's something glimmering on this planet and Neil does get it!

That song, along with Ceiling Unlimited, renewed my faith in Rush!

I want to gush over how amazing the intro of this Xanadu version is!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kw21UZhQ-BM

I don't know if that's the mellotron in the background or Geddy at an enhanced keyboard?

I agree that it is gush worthy.

That's one of the most beautifully haunting and goosebumpy and emotional Xanadu intros.

Even Neil did his cow bells different (not sure if that is what it is, but y'all know what I mean :)).

4:19 Always so majestic that part. Triumphant might be a better word.

I never get tired of hearing or making my own gushiness as far as Xanadu goes.

Have been listening to A Passage to Oslo (5/22/1979) and found two AMAZING parts:

First at 44 minutes in we get a STUNNING version of "Cygnus" in Hemispheres

And at 1:21:45 we get a MINDBLOWING solo in "2112: Presentation"

The Tour of the Hemispheres had the band in top form!

Want to gush over Secret Touch! An incredibly under-rated song, just discovered it a couple weeks ago while watching a Vapor Trails bootleg, top-notch song. Effortlessly switches between hard and soft sections, and is filled with top-notch melodies.

The riff Lifeson does at 4 minutes in... WOW.

I have loved that song from the first time I ever heard it. Agree with you that it is under rated. I think that's some of Neil's best lyrics in that song.

Rarely do I listen to the album cut though. Mostly just the live versions from the VT tour.
