The venue they're playing here is a 20,000 capacity amphitheater. There's no way they come close to filling that together these days. After the 7800 presales venues this size have for shows finishes up, I'll see what's available. Not crazy about seeing Priest play a shorter set but if it's the only chance I get to see them this tour than I may as well go.

Build your 19 song personal favourite setlist based around these Priest staples (because you know they'll play them).

Breaking the Law

You've Got Another Thing Comin'

Metal Gods

Living After Midnight

So another 14 songs of your own choosing.

I have a 20 song playlist (22 if you count Guardians and Hellion as full songs) on my iPod. It's based mainly on what I would want to hear off the new album and some old stuff I haven't seen them do before. There are no radio staples in it.

Firepower

Lightning Strike

Delivering The Goods

Sinner

Evil Never Dies

Never The Heroes

Screaming For Vengeance

Freewheel Burning

Guardians

Rising From Ruins

Stained Class

The Ripper

Spectre

Cool package, but I wonder if it's only happening because Purple are really struggling to sell on their own.

Let's not pretend Priest is drawing huge anymore either. The last two tours they're probably drawing around 5,000 per show. They're a good mid level venue band now. Based on name alone Purple can probably draw around the same themselves. Their issue is that they seem to be booked for the bigger amphitheaters still and they're nowhere near that popular anymore. If they played the same places as Priest they wouldn't need help getting people to come.

NO WAY!!!!!! THIS IS INCREDIBLE NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be taking my dad to the Shoreline! Just got OZZY tickets for October. My old man is going! My dad RULES!

I am very shocked that Deep Purple is headlining. Perhaps they will alternate back and forth??

I saw the Dixie Dregs last week. If was off the charts (pun intended)!! A sold out theater. They were loud and proud! Steve Morse totally shredded. Rod had two drum solos!!!

I love the Steve Morse MK version of DP!!!!

This is amazing!!!

What would I do without the Rush Forum? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Priest blows Deep Purple away! Yet I do love both bands!

Well, it was until this tour. They probably won't play it anymore because neither KK or Glenn are around to play it now. Besides they're playing The Ripper which is a much better selection off that album. I like Victim but don't understand the amount of praise the song gets. It's not even the best song on that album and Priest has many songs that are better.

I guess that's my controversial opinion of the day.

definitely a controversial opinion. But I was happy to see Sinner this year. Richie did a great job with the KK solo
