This post is in regards to some of the esoteric imagery in Clockwork Angels' album booklet, excluding the alchemy emblems that run the face of the clock. Primarily, this is focusing on the armillary sphere, the queen bee, and the circle within the triangle. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_znetMyxM0Pk/SusE9z72OJI/AAAAAAAABpU/ASFfE54s1eU/s400/circle+square.gif The circle within the triangle looks very similar to ancient alchemy glyph for squaring the circle and Metatron's Cube, the latter of which is a shape in sacred geometry which relates to Metatron, a rarely mentioned angel in the Hebrew Texts (Judaism, not Christianity) that is the most powerful entity in the universe next to God. (A Watchmaker and Coldfire Alchemy reference, no doubt.) http://images.fineartamerica.com/images-medium/queen-bee-deborah-wetschensky.jpg The Queen Bee According to Wikipedia, the honeybee also has routes in sacred geometry, the math used to construct religious structures by various faiths since antiquity. Since the honeybees construct hexagonal cells to store their honey, this is seen as evidence of of sacred geometry from a divine source. The circle within the triangle is newer to me so I'm just as curious as you are. The symbolism of the honeybee depends on the group/culture that is using it. In Utah, the "Beehive State", the honeybee is a symbol prevalent in Mormon culture. It is a symbol of industry, hard work, and in my opinion, everybody knowing their place. There is a lot of importance placed on order and work. Some people say this was inspired by Brigham Young and Joseph Smith (church leaders), both being Masons. The Masons use the bee symbol as well though I am not quite sure if the meaning is the same or even similar. I think that definitely parallels the world of The Watchmaker.
