  1. QUOTE (condemned2bfree @ Sep 13 2012, 01:56 AM) http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?show...losophers+stone A very interesting post. However, I said that this post was in regards to the esoteric emblems "excluding the alchemy emblems" on the clock face, which are clearly known alchemy emblems - So this post is namely the honeybee and the circle within the triangle.
  2. Resetting the chandice beguiler at the bottom of his kit.
  3. QUOTE (ThinkingBig @ Sep 12 2012, 08:45 PM) It appears that The Spirit of Radio has been dropped from the A setlist, which should be the set on Saturday night in Chicago. The Spirit of Radio is what you could call the overture to the soundtrack of my life. It's not the first RUSH song I ever heard, but it was the one song that always seemed to come on the radio when I needed a lift--when I needed to hear a great rock song that would distract me in a good way from a shitty day. It was the song that would come on at just the right moment and instantly change my perspective, make me feel okay with life's ups and downs. I think it was 1983, the KLOS rock and roll 500-- when the big rock radio station in L.A. played the top 500 most requested songs. I have a great memory of listening to the top ten songs that year, and being so proud when my band had the number 3 song. The Spirt of the Radio made number 3, with Won't Get Fooled Again #2, and Stairway to Heaven #1. It was just so cool to be able to say, we're #3!! And we were in damn good company. IMO, The Sprit of Radio is more than just a great RUSH song, it's a rock anthem about a time when radio programmers and record companies were making hard rock more like commercial pop rock -- positioning bands with catchy lyrics to appeal to the masses (Journey, Foreigner). The disco and commercial rock of the late-70's gave birth to alternative rock, punk, and new wave movements. How cool to have a song about rock radio with subtle new wave and reggae influences. That opening riff always gives me a natural rush, a thrill, my hand automatically leaps to the volume dial and I'm reminded of days when I road my bike to 7-11 to play Defender and Missile Command, had girlfriends who didn't get my bands, and got dropped off in front of the L.A. forum where we had nosebleed seats to see our favorite band... RUSH. Lights go down... Audience jumps to their feet... Three stooges music... And Alex breaks into The Spirit of Radio. Good-bye friend. Hope to see you again sometime... Awesome, actually.
  4. lmfao - love the last choice. But yeah. Ixnay on the Wish Them Well-ay.
  5. I'm offering bacon, damnit. Discuss.
  6. QUOTE (LyndseyG @ Sep 12 2012, 01:02 PM) I wasn't keen on it until I heard it in context of the album and wih the new intro. I love it now! The song always worked out of context to me, as well as in context with the album of course. <---
  7. QUOTE (delrancho223 @ Sep 12 2012, 01:05 AM)Sir you are a ruffian and a scoundrel. Best declaration ever.
  8. QUOTE (Snaked @ Sep 9 2012, 06:29 PM) All that you can do is Wish Them Well... Quoted fo' troof.
  9. "Blind men in the market buying what we're sold." Truer words were never spoken, nay sang. Awesome, powerful song with an honest message.
  10. Carnies is a great song, but I'm surprised it's currently beating out Seven Cites. "Canyons and cactus, endless and trackless"
  11. (If there is already a post somewhere about this, then I apologize.) This post is in regards to some of the esoteric imagery in Clockwork Angels' album booklet, excluding the alchemy emblems that run the face of the clock. Primarily, this is focusing on the armillary sphere, the queen bee, and the circle within the triangle. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_znetMyxM0Pk/SusE9z72OJI/AAAAAAAABpU/ASFfE54s1eU/s400/circle+square.gif The circle within the triangle looks very similar to ancient alchemy glyph for squaring the circle and Metatron's Cube, the latter of which is a shape in sacred geometry which relates to Metatron, a rarely mentioned angel in the Hebrew Texts (Judaism, not Christianity) that is the most powerful entity in the universe next to God. (A Watchmaker and Coldfire Alchemy reference, no doubt.) http://images.fineartamerica.com/images-medium/queen-bee-deborah-wetschensky.jpg The Queen Bee According to Wikipedia, the honeybee also has routes in sacred geometry, the math used to construct religious structures by various faiths since antiquity. Since the honeybees construct hexagonal cells to store their honey, this is seen as evidence of of sacred geometry from a divine source. (aka the Watchmaker) Just some interesting things I found with a bit of research. Thoughts, anyone?
