Update:

Mum had a CT scan on Wednesday. She saw her specialist this morning.

Not good news. The CT scan showed no improvement whatever from the chemo, in fact the lumps are worse.

Mum has 2 options:

To have stronger chemo every 2 weeks, or as she feels so well, to do nothing.

She didn't ask how long. She didn't want to know.

He has given her information sheets about the chemo, which she has passed to my sisters and I.

She is going to see her specialist nurse on Tuesday and they are going to go through the paperwork together.

:hug2: :hug2: I'm so sorry to hear this, Lyndsey. It must have been pretty discouraging to have mom go through chemo and not get a good result. You guys will be in my thoughts- sending healing energy to you and your family.

Tuesday just gone mum saw her specialist nurses at the hospice.

She told them she has decided not to have the treatment.

She had to sign consent forms and gave mine and my sister's contact details as we are the closest.

She's been discharged from hospital into She care of the hospice. They have given her information about the different services they can provide.

Lyndsey, there is really nothing an anonymous name on a internet forum can say that would seem to do any justice to what you, you sis and your dear Mom are going thru now .. Simply saying "I'm sorry" seems almost disrespectful, as I can fully understand what you are going thru and the change news like this will cause in people's lives ..

Every moment - no matter what the person's health is - every moment is precious and the true character of people come out in times like this .. If your Mom isn;t showing a lot of symptoms - or even if she is - just do as much as you can with her - love her, as she has loved you, and that is all someone in this life can do ..

Whether it is denial or optimism or whatever, I am always one to hold out hope - that at least allows for spending positive and loving time together, without the cloud of fear or dread ..

My thought and hopes are with you

Hi Lyndsey, I do know what you are going through. I don't really know where strength comes from in times like these, but I think what you are doing here is a good thing. The support of people, even when they don't know what to say, is meaningful. People are thinking of you.
