  1. 1. Do you refer to drums as a "Drum Kit" or a "Drum Set"?

On the internet? Drum Kit because it makes me sound cool and like I know what I'm talking about.

For real though? "Drums". That's it hah.*

*Voted 'Set' because I never say 'Kit' in RL and I've said drum set before.

I think the people who use "drum set" are poser wannabes! :P

What about people who just say "drums?"

Yeah, what about us!?

Is "drum" onomatopoeic?

A snare drum isn't...but I'd say quite a few of the floor toms and bass drums, or kick drums, could be considered that way.

Oooh, that's another thing!

Do you call it a bass drum, or a kick drum?

Bass drum. Kick always sounded goofy to me.

Yeah kick drum is something a pretentious Berklee douche would say while we walked by them on the way to the guitar store.*

*Usually while their long, flowing rock n' poser hair flew in the breeze lol.

We used to knock them so badly lol. The one in Boston had (has?) a giant line of all these students always standing around in front and we'd walk by and use these snooty voices and say stuff like "And HE THOUGHT it was an E major chord, but OBVIOUSLY it was an E7th suspended in 7/8 time! HUH HUH HUH!".

I know none of this makes any sense haha. I'm surprised one of them didn't brain us with a cello.

That's funny, but would have loved to have gone to Berklee when I was young. I remember seeing their ads in music magazines and wishing I could go.
