That's Big Star with a bit of Cheap Trick mashed in, ain't it?

Well yeah, it's a Cheap Trick cover of a Big Star song

Here's the full music video for the Cheap Trick version

If I was only going to buy one Cheap Trick album (not Budokan), what should it be?

I only did buy one, and it was the '77 self-titled

Cheap Trick belong to a field of artists who all sound fun but never did anything to truly set them apart.

Others include Foreigner, REO Speedwagon, Journey, Bon Jovi. It's a matter of taste if you enjoy these bands but Cheap Trick did nothing that set them apart from other successful bands of their era.

Lyrics are trite, music is good but pretty ordinary, vocals are not amazing...none of this would bother me if the fans on this forum were not massive jerks to fans of other bands they don't like.

In fact I think in future if someone tells me they are a Cheap Trick fan I would walk off like they have the plague.

Jeez man. Can you sound any more elitist?

I suppose he could sound like your average Rush fan?

He's lost that living feeling, Maverick.

Or loving feeling. Either is fine.

Two outstanding albums:

In Color

Heaven Tonight

I am going to revisit the 77 self titled and then just go from there because I really like this band.

So whilst I am glad this thread was made after that ridiculous anti primus thread, it did lead to me trying them and I am pleased.

Toto is better.
