treeduck Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 RIP Patrick! Great actor! And of course he had a great first name! ;) 3
Turbine Freight Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 RIP. Loved him as John Steed. A real part of my TV childhood. 6
EagleMoon Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 RIP Patrick! Great actor! And of course he had a great first name! ;) I agree. :) The Avengers was one of those shows that I just adored from when I was a kid. I remember searching high and low trying to find VHS tapes of the episodes. I always wanted to be Mrs. Peel and go on adventures with Steed. :D He will be greatly missed. 4
JohnRogers Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Who will the Cylons take orders from now? A long life and a great career.
treeduck Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 I had a feeling after Christopher Lee died that it might be the first of a few great names to pass. :boo hiss: Patrick and Christopher were almost the same age, both 93, only Macnee was a little older, he was born in February and Lee in May. 2
treeduck Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 These two made a great Holmes and Watson team too. http://www.fangirlmag.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/sherlock-holmes-the-golden-years1.jpg 5
treeduck Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 Here's another Pat Macnee Christopher Lee fact i didn't realise: He was educated at Summerfields Preparatory School, where he first acted in Henry V at the age of 11, with Sir Christopher Lee playing opposite him as the Dauphin. 1
treeduck Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 So now this year we've lost Christopher Lee, Patrick Macnee, Rod Taylor, Leonard Nimoy, Louis Jourdan among others. Louis Jourdan was another actor who was 93 almost the same age as Macnee, 8 days younger.

greyfriar Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Yet another childhood hero gone. R.I.P. Patrick This year sucks in terms of big losses. 3
treeduck Posted June 29, 2015 Author Posted June 29, 2015 I must admit when I was a kid I used to get Patrick Macnee confused with Patrick Magee and Patrick McGoohan and sometimes even Patrick Mower. And even more confusing I'm called Patrick too! 1
