Is there a knives/blades thread? Should I just post stuff like that here?

Excellent question, I've wondered that myself a few times. Let me direct this to our wonderful admins' attention and either they or I will give you an answer.

I take it that you are a knife collector like me? If so, then trink39.gif

I wouldn't count myself a serious collector, but I've got a few. Hoping to be adding several in the next few weeks.

Cool!

By the way, you have 1-0's and my blessing to start a knife thread in this forum. I'll take some pics of my blades and post them soon.

You actually own this?

Yep. It's nothing special. A Colt 6920 with some aftermarket stuff to dress it up a little.

My Mosin Nagant with the new stock:

Holy cow! That is GORGEOUS! I love those rifles!!!

Thank you, I agree that it's a fine weapon. Now is a great time to get one, they're dirt cheap. My Father-in-law called me yesterday and told me he had gone into a gun store in Atlanta last weekend and that they had Mosins for $120! I asked him if he was going back soon and he said yes so I asked him to grab me one and I'll pay him for it provided that it's in good shape. I guess it can't hurt to have an extra one, especially at that price. I'm sure he'll probably get himself another, too.

P. S. If you plan on buying a Mosin, here's a great site chock-full of good info: Mosin-Nagant.

Yeah, man! laugh.gif She does make a big boom. When my brother-in-law went to the range with me one time I brought my Mosin. He referred to it as my "anti-aircraft gun". I offered to let him fire it but he declined and said: "I like my shoulder as it is. Unbruised." laugh.gif

Does it really have that much kick? Do you go home with a bruised shoulder after shooting it?

Yes, when it had the original stock. The thing is solid birch with a steel buttplate. Since I put the synthetic stock with a built-in recoil pad on it she shoots a lot more comfortably.

RL, it's hard to tell where you're going with this, but please don't go all anti-gun on us. Read the first two or three pages of this thread and see what happened to the guy who tried that.

Look what Uncle Jack is buying for his 11 year old niece! (Yes, I got her parent's permission first!)

Daisy Air Rifle.

She already has a Cricket bolt-action .22 rifle and loves shooting, but she doesn't get to go to the range all that often. This she can shoot in my backyard every time she visits. She lives in an apartment so she can't shoot it over there. I'm also buying her a stack of targets and am going to build her a target stand and she and I are going to be having some shooting contests (don't worry, I'll let her win laugh.gif ). I'll post pics when we get the rifle and she comes over. I can't wait, we're gonna have a ball! laugh.gif

Edit: yes, I'm getting her a pair of safety glasses to go with it so don't worry about her shooting her eye out! laugh.gif

I picked up some of this yesterday: Birchwood Casey Foaming Bore Cleaner. I'm pretty much a fanatic when it comes to a clean weapon, and I've been know to scrub a barrel over and over for two hours until I'm satisfied that it's clean. After I run that last patch through if there's even a speck of powder residue dirt on it, I start all over again. I've heard really good things about this stuff so I bought some. I'm probably going to the range soon and I'll use this stuff after and post a review for you folks.
