sabresman31
I'd say they're a combination of Progressive Rock, Hard Rock, and Synth Rock. It really depends on what album you're listening to, but I think Rush is Progressive for the most part.

Tony R
who cares Tony Clearly Ducky does. I'm just wasting time until the Khan fight starts in an hour or so.Khan's chin is glass.Aye and no power at this weight. But that's just a taster for the Mayweather bandwagon.Khan can win the fight if he boxes, but he gets involved in a scrap he'll get KO'd and Collazo isn't even a puncher, even though he just blew away Ortiz who was a shell anyway. You called that correct. Easy win on points for Khan.Mayweather steals another decision.

You called that correct. Easy win on points for Khan.Mayweather steals another decision.I thought Khan did well, and showed better power than expected. The other guy was physically stronger and he banked on that being his winning card but in the end he ate too much leather trying to pressure Khan and Khan looked the better offensive fighter in the end. Mayweather spent too much time on the ropes where Maidana was able to tee off with his wild swings. He missed most of them but even so he looked like the on-top fighter in these moments because Floyd wasn't answering back too much. If Mayweather had stayed in the middle of the ring and just circled and stepped to the side he could have picked him off without much fuss all night long (which he pretty much did in the middle to later rounds). Floyd doesn't like using his legs too much these days though, he's 37 and the bounce in them is not like it used to be, so he stays on the ropes too much. There might be a rematch and they might as well have one, there's no one else out there who can make him any money except middleweights and Khan won't fight in September because of Ramadan. There's a few up and coming fighters at welterweight but most people don't even know who they are.
Segue Myles
and narp just sounds to me like a regular old dude. life gets in the way of things, and when you've got a full-time job, a couple of kids, etc, a lot of folks just quit givin a shit about new albumsThats me in a nutshell. When your woman digs Journey (I like old Journey) and everything else on a radio top 40 station it makes it tough. Like you have said however I think the timing was good because the new music from all my bands that I heard post 80' I didn't like anyway.... Eh, we all have busy lives..but if you claim to love music, but only like stuff you grew up on, thats not really being hardcore about it,.youre a casual fan Dude! Respect your elders! And he is not just a casual fan. Go back a few posts and you will see he has at least tried a few of the post PoW releases. I might own VT, FBN and Rush, but I rarely play them. Am I a casual fan? Eat my p...

There's nothing "gay" about your fight summaries. ;)I'm beginning to believe that Mayweather is dodging Pacquiao and with good reason. If you could argue that Rush are proto Prog Metal...Priest, in those seminal seventies albums, were as close to founding modern metal as any other influential band. Shame they sold out before the arrival of Thrash. Very important band even I admit that. Edited May 4, 2014 by Tony R
bathory
british steel has some really good shit, but overall it's just too much of a party-have-a-good-time album and lacks the power of their 70s stuff. and that whole 80s party rock vibe is fine for van halen or something, but I prefer HEAVY priest.

Cygnus 2112
I would never consider any music I ever liked or bought to be "metal". Almost all of it as most of you already know is pre 1980 music....I thought you said you liked Judas Priest? You don't consider them metal? The the Priest I like I wouldn't. Around Unleashed In The East backwards.... Dissadent Aggressor is about as METAL as it gets...Judas Priest were the forefathers of 80s ThrashI am sure you guys are right. All I know is I wore this stuff out back then and loved it whatever it is called or was called. The music and sound hold up today as well. When I go back and listen it sounds fresh to me.... So do you like stuff like Motorhead as well?...or how bout early era Metallica?..The only Motorhead or Metallica I know is what everyone would know most likely. It seems when Motorhead was coming on the scene I was already out of it. Metallica came when I had gone on to other things also. My life has been strange I will grant you that. When I was into music (76'-80'ish), I was way into it. When I got married in 81' it all seemed to end and I didn't follow any music after that. I am pretty sure the only music I bought after 81' was Rush and that only lasted till Power Windows...You gave up on Rush when they released their best album.
