treeduck
ROB HALFORD Is 'Ready To Make' Another JUDAS PRIEST Album Only four months after the release of JUDAS PRIEST's latest album, "Redeemer Of Souls", the band's lead singer, Rob Halford, says that he is ready to head back into the studio to begin work on the follow-up effort. JUDAS PRIEST's 17th studio album, "Redeemer Of Souls" came out six years after the critically panned 2008 concept double disc "Nostradamus", which was compared in one review to "old men trying to put on a pair of new leather pants that don't fit, but nor do they have the dignity to not wear them." The new CD, which was described by guitarist Glenn Tipton as "a completely classic PRIEST album," sold around 32,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 6 on The Billboard 200 chart. Speaking about PRIEST's future during a November 3 appearance on Eddie Trunk's "Trunk Nation" show on SiriusXM's Hair Nation, Halford said: "I go into the dressing room every night [during the current North American tour], and [JUDAS PRIEST guitarist] Richie's [Faulkner] jamming; that guy never stops playing his guitar. And I walk in, and I go, 'What are you playing now?' [And he says] 'I don't know.' [And I tell him] 'Put that down in your iPhone right now.' And he gets his iPhone and puts it down. He's been doing that all the way through the 'Redeemer Of Souls' tour. So what I'm saying is the riffs are already piling up, the ideas are already piling up. I'm ready to go. I'm ready to make a JUDAS PRIEST record. So that's where we roll at the moment."

IT BLEW MY FUCKKING MIND AND MY FUCKKING EARS!!!!!My ears are still ringing man.I saw them at the San Jose Civic. A small venue! Usually they play outside at the Concord Pavilion by my house!Anyway I couldn't believe my ears and eyes. I was thinking that Rob was just going to walk around the stage like a bald zombie and go through the motions.DAMN WAS I WRONG!!!!He was moving all around the stage! He even took his glasses off!! HE HIT EVERY FUKKING NOTE! He was PERFECT!The band was great!!! F KK!!!! Judas Priest has Randy Rhoads Jr on guitar. His solo was OFF THE HOOK!I was truly blown away. They will tour for ten more years.I can't believe Halford. His voice is in tip top shape. The best I've heard ever!!! Rob Halford is a true METAL GOD! He has the best voice on the earth!! Only next to Freddie Mercury. RIP! JUDAS PRIEST IS THE BEST METAL BAND AROUND!! Rob said last night that they have been playing METAL for 40 years!!They are the same age as RUSH and Y&T! Halford blows Meniketti and Geddy Lee away!!!!!! "BEYOND THE REALMS OF DEATH!" "VICTIM OF CHANGES!" EPIC! The bass and bass drums from Travis were penetrating my heart! The dual guitar dueling was piercing through my eardrums. Seeing Priest in a small venue was just beyond spectacular!!!!!! GO SEE THEM NOW!

TheAccountant
I totally agree that this is a great album. Priest hit it out of the park with this one!!! Much better than Nostradomus. Possibly better than Angel of Retribution (which I do like a great deal). Better than Painkiller (which I don't care for). Better than Ram it Down or Turbo (I happen to like Turbo a great deal so that is saying something). As I think about it, it may (repeat may) be the best Priest work since Screaming for Vengence. Not as good as Screaming but to even compare it - wow. A guy I work with said he has a buddy who saw Priest on this tour and, like everybody else here it seems, was blown away and said Halford has a lot left. Lets hope for more albums and tours from the Metal Gods!!! Now let me ask a big question (and I am sorry if this has been previously mentioned but I have not seen it on TRF). Did any of you Priest fans see them recently on "Counting Cars" on the History Channel??? Yes, Judas Priest was on Counting Cars on the History Channel a couple of weeks back!!! Brief appearance but it was great to see them on the show and here them explain how it was they started riding the bike out on stage b4 "Hell Bent for Leather". I LOL'ed when one of the guys who works at Count Customs told Danny the Count that there was a "Jewish Priest" there to see him. So, did anybody see the Metal Gods on the show??

I've seen Priest about ten times dating back to the late Eighties. It was the BEST Priest show I have ever seen! It helped that it was inside a small venue. No outdoor bullshit. My ears were ringing for an entire day. Rob's voice was the best I have heard. He gave me chills on his shrieks. This band still has a good ten years left in the heavy metal tank! METAL GODS!!!!!

I agree, lets hope having Scott and Richie in the group keeps them going. I would love to see them again. I have only seen them twice. Once on the Ram it Down tour and once on Painkiller. The Painkiller show was ok but nothing special. The Ram it Down show - wow. That was the summer of 1988 and to this day I have seen only 1 show that was better (Rush on the VT tour). Cinderella opened and was an amazing open act. To this day they are one of the best opening acts have ever seen. Then Priest just blew them off the stage. Lets keep our fingers crossed and hope for more from the Metal Gods. Given how great this album and tour seem to have been (plus the appearance on Counting Cars I mentioned) I for one am hopeful for more from them.

Rod in Toronto
It's a joint event. Accept will be opening of course. This is a spinoff of the Monsters of Rock in São Paulo, which will have a few more bands: Kiss, Manowar, Rival Sons, Unisonic, Malmsteen, Ozzy...it's a shame that all these other bands couldn't make it to Rio this time. The biggest metal audience in Brazil is in São Paulo.
