Drums on Anthem are pretty incredible, bass is way up there too (especially if the bassist has to sing that monster!) I guess it'd help to know the level of musicianship in the band the OP's talking about to make better educated recommendations for him. Rush is the most basic of their albums and things get steadily busier until Hemispheres. Then they started to refine their songwriting and really experimented with the song form and structure.
