What's an easier Rush song to cover?

Pretty much anything from Counterparts onward, though Vapor Trails might be harder to interpret until the remix comes out.

Some easier ones:

Stick It Out

Half The World

Dreamline

Earthshine

Far Cry

BU2B

Headlong Flight

Wish Them Well

Something For Nothing

Once you can play La Villa Strangiato, you know you're good ;)

I am a metal head and I'm still starting out. What's an easier Rush song to cover. I know Tom Sawyer, Working Man and Caravan

Of those three? Working Man. But the John Rutsey version, not the Neil overplays the crap out of it version.

BU2B? Not for the bassist. That's a hard bassline to do correctly IMO.

Anthem is pretty easy to figure out.

What are all you guys' related to Petrucci or something? Hahaha.

Drums on Anthem are pretty incredible, bass is way up there too (especially if the bassist has to sing that monster!) I guess it'd help to know the level of musicianship in the band the OP's talking about to make better educated recommendations for him.

Really starting with the first album and moving through them chronologically can give you a sense of their growth and progression, as well as your own. Rush is the most basic of their albums and things get steadily busier until Hemispheres. Then they started to refine their songwriting and really experimented with the song form and structure. They all play with much more restraint and purpose now and let their virtuosity shine through at key moments.

Listen closely!

In The Mood is pretty easy to pick up. Pretty basic lead, too.
