We've been talking about cutting down the amount of quote boxes per post for a while now, and we've held off on implementing it just to spite Sheldon since he was such a pain in the ass about it. :P

 

We've gone from 20 quotes per post down to 10, boardwide. Let us know how you like it.

Does the amount of quote boxes affect the speed of the forum?

Barring some unforeseen circumstances, we're going to shut down the board tomorrow night, around 24 hours from now. We're going to upgrade to the latest board software and hopefully fix the 404 issues

I guess the squeaky wheel doesn't always get the oil. :)

 

Sheldon is squeakier than an old jalopy's rusty gearbox.

Not really. It's not about performance, it's about having up to 20 quote boxes on the screen and that fact that it looks like a total mess that's hard to read. Once you get past 8-10 quotes it's hard to tell who said what, so we're trying it at ten.

Yeah I have trouble with that especially if I'm joining a thread that's well established and has a ton of quoted posts.

I have Google Android - I usually have one of them loading problems around 8.30 every single morning. I have to avoid the Forum at that time. I don't know why it happens. Long time ago, it used to be 9am, then it calmed down for ages, now it's at it again.

Loading problems broke it's own record this past week: 7:35 now.

I have had trouble all day with my "likes" loading and with the forum page loading, but it might just be my computer. My pms seem to be ok though.

My 'Likes' are being posted, but an error message says there is a problem with them being posted, or somesuch.....
