Saw a banner ad for this on Blabbermouth. The ad looked just like the CA banner. Also a Canadian band.

No, not familiar. But if you're insinuating that the Spellbook cover was influenced by CA with its redness and symbols arranged in a circle, you may have a point.

It's probably just a coincidence.

I've thought these to be similar as well! A great and underrated album by a fantastic band.

I keep thinking that there is something about Clockwork Angels that seems to be paying homage to the album Five Miles Out, by Mike Oldfield.

 

No it isn't just that both albums have clouds on the cover, there are musical motifs that anyone familiar with both albums might recognise.
