The last album I bought was S&A.

The last NON-Rush album I bought was Tool's 10,000 Days.

That ought to give you an indication of how selective I can be with my music purchases. In an era where 95% of the music on the local rock station sucks (raise that number to 99.5% if you throw in pop, rap, and R&B), I hardly even bother anymore.

Here's some advice: Stop listening to radio.

You might actually find some decent music. Just a little bit of advice.

A pretty good day for new music.

I Bought:
Rage Against The Machine - Evil Empire
Modest Mouse - The Moon And Antarctica

From a friend:
Captain Beefheart - Ice Cream For Crow

From the library:
The Shins - Wincing The Night Away
Pearl Jam - Binaural
Radiohead - How Am I Driving?
Jenny Lewis - Acid Tongue
Wicked

What a coincidence, I just returned that Radiohead album yesterday.

By the way, you got the Wicked soundtrack? I saw Wicked in person. 1022.gif

Nice! Our library actually has some really great music sometimes. I have yet to listen to Wicked yet, I did kinda just get it on a whim.

I don't know how amazing the soundtrack will be by itself, but at Gershwin Hall, it was a huge part of the incredible show that I got to see.

By the way, if you're back down there sometime soon, you should check out Rachmaninoff's 3rd Piano Concerto. That's some good stuff.

I tried looking through the classical music but it just seemed like a jumbled mess. The rows where crammed together so tight I could hardly pull out a cd!

You know what the bad thing is? When you buy five cd's each week for three weeks, you find out you've run out of money! laugh.gif

I'm going to take a break from buying cd's for a few weeks, and if I do buy anything, it'll be in iTunes. But until then, I gotta enjoy what I've got.

I did my weekend music buying today. I really wish I could buy less music, like a cd or two a week, instead of five or more like I've done for the past three weeks. laugh.gif

From Amazon.com (all for a total of $27.91):

Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe - Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe

Faith No More - Angel Dust

Yes - Time And A Word

Yes - Yes

From Best Buy (all for a total of $29.97):

Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited

Green Day - Nimrod

Sex Pistols - Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols

So, yes, it's overspending, but it's smart overspending! 1287.gif

Whilst on holidays last week I came across a record fair and a second hand vinyl shop. I spent over 600 euro on various old bits and pieces.

My wife tells me she isn't angry, but I know different. Oh yes.

Would I do it again? Oh yes.

I picked up some new Prog from Moth Vellum. I checked out samples on Amazon and well, I had to get it. It was worth it too. Great stuff.

Listened to a new Amazon purchase yesterday from a band called Moth Vellum. Heavy elements of old school Prog with some new ideas. It's like Camel at times but written much better with a better singer. Also reminiscent of old Genesis. It is a tad Space Rock in parts as well. This one will grow on me.

Okay, so now that The Chronic is finished downloading, I decided to complete One of These Nights by The Eagles. So that's two albums today. Now I have new music to listen to at the Braves game tomorrow night! biggrin.gif
