I decided to watch this one just to see how bad it was, and in that sense, it certainly delivered! One of the worst movies I´ve ever seen.

treeduck
http://i.imgur.com/rJD4KQD.jpg http://i.imgur.com/hdMYV6f.jpg I had to watch these original Robocop films to get the bad taste out of my mouth after seeing the shockingly abysmal reboot from earlier this year. There's no way they should have messed with this franchise, the original entry is excellent with a great script that is funny and entertaining and the story makes sense and progresses logically. The action is satisfying, and scene by scene this film does what you want it to, it kicks fuckking ass. The actors in this are superb, guys like Peter Weller, Ronny Cox, Kurtwood Smith, Miguel Ferrer, Ray Wise and Dan O'Herlihy. These guys aren't overpaid superstars who whore themselves out for a pathetic cameo role and then give a shitty phone-it-in performance like Michael Keaton and Samuel L Jackson did with the reboot. The original cast were just jobbing actors who delivered the goods and did their what they were supposed to do for the good of the film and the end result was that they created a classic and added something worthwhile to their acting resume at the same time. The sequel is good too.

The fact that Peter Weller passed on it is enough for me. The second one isn't as good as the first but it's still a fun picture.
