I waited until I was 30 to watch this. The previews, and a few scenes I saw growing up, scared the hell out of me. And I like horror movies.

It was honestly one of the scariest things I've ever seen in my life. Terrible effects, but it just left a mood that was frightening.

Did you enjoy this? I think it was shot down here. On the backburner.

Yeah it's a good quality production, good story, with suspense and tension. The locations and scenery are great, the subject matter is interesting too. Dafoe is excellent as usual and the rest of the cast including Sam Neil do a good job in support.

Well I've seen the others so I had to see this one at some point. They just skipped any kind of set up, assuming we know that it's "Die Hard where John is going to shoot everything, just blowing things up with lot's and lot's of glass. This is a perfect movie for late night "BOOM BOOM" on the home theater. It was so preposterous that I laughed my ass off the whole movie. So while not a great "Die Hard" movie it was good for late night popcorn.

I must say, one of the best low-cost SF movies I've seen in a while. The plot is total clichè, Mission to Mars + Space Odissey, down to the guy who dies in spaaaaaace, but the tension is palpable and the direction is very clever, concentrating on the crew in a claustrophobic space rather than in CGI landscapes. Plus, it stars Daniel Wu. The final monster is a bummer, though.

Still, worth watching.

A Good Day To Die Hard

Gets a *little* better halfway through but it's too little, too late. It's even worse than the mediocre PG13 4th one. Congrats on screwing this franchise like the other ones you screwed up for Fox, Tom Rothman. Good riddance to you now that you're no longer in charge.

Now there's a blast from the past. I haven't seen this movie for so long. I've got to watch it again to find out if I like it. I remember it being good but alas, that was long ago.

It's a good film and the premise holds up well even though it's far fetched, it's still a great idea. This was the days when James Brolin and Elliot Gould were Hollywood superstars and they're both very good in this, though it's odd seeing OJ Simpson playing a hapless good guy. Hal Holbrook scores well in one of his leader-of-an-evil-conspiracy roles, similar to his roles in Magnum Force and the Star Chamber. Best performance of the film goes to David Doyle (Bosley out of Charlie's Angels) with his "you've got 24 hours then you're fired" speeches to Elliot Gould!
