I think that's the most important part of it - it's a kids show that doesn't talk down to you.

 

It has this in common with other fantastic kids shows, like Arthur, Martha Speaks, and... maybe that's it. That's all I can think of, anyway.

 

Maybe that's why MLP is so difficult to defend, there are so few examples of what makes it great to point to.
