Wilderness_of_Mirrors
check out these teasers.... The first one seems a bit cheesy to me, probably because the "choir" voices are definitely done on a synth....i think if hes going to do ambient music he should just go pure noise like some of the stuff on Insurgentes... As for the second one....AMAZING. the guy knows how to write a damn good acoustic song. gotta love it. GET EXCITED.
Soni
First one is pretty creepy... I like it. Second one is pretty uplifting... I like it. I wonder if Steven is going for the light/dark double thing... Can't wait for it!
PolarizeMe
I'm just waiting for the special edition pre-order...I really want that version of Grace For Drowning badly considering all the special stuff Steven said it'll contain. The teasers are amazing, Steven Wilson never ceases to amaze me. I can't wait for this!
Oracle
Hopefully he doesn't limit the vinyl release like he did for "Insurgentes". I'm going to try and get all three formats it's on, just because I'm a fanboy.
ColdFireYYZ
I like the second one a lot more than the first. The first was decent, but I'm glad the whole album won't be like it. Can't wait!
GrandDesigner
Steven Wilson is one of the few musicians who just "gets" it. Everything he does has such quality control over it. The man is a true artist in every sense. The visual aspect of his work is quite haunting as well. Love both clips. I am excited
D3strukt
Needs to be PT. I prefer PT much more to him, solowise.
ColdFireYYZ
Is it just me, or does it seem like SW is writing more upbeat songs lately? The new sample and Waving are both much less depressing-sounding than his recent material. I think Soni is right - this will be a light/dark type thing. Well, I guess the upbeatness of Waving and the new sample just happened to come out naturally I guess....I'd be really happy if the whole Dark and Light concept was true. Steven's written some other songs that can be considered upbeat such as the songs from the Stupid Dream and Lightbulb Sun era, for example Piano Lessons, Stranger By The Minute, and Lightbulb Sun. As long as he makes great music, I don't mind if his stuff are upbeat, or depressing.
Ancient Ways
QUOTE (D3strukt @ Jun 25 2011, 02:07 PM) Needs to be PT. I prefer PT much more to him, solowise. I was thinking "what's the point?" It sounds like PT. Why a solo album?

Steven said that he's going to be working with people outside his projects for this album. He did the same thing with Insurgentes to an extent, so I guess it's rightfully a solo album. Presto-digitation
I prefer PT and Blackfield in that order, but I don't hear PT in his solo work myself. I like the clips.

The Owl
So, the package is called "Grace For Drowning" which is and of itself composed of two albums called "Deform To Form A Star" and "Like Dust I Have Cleared from my Eye"? I am confused? Does SW want this to be considered a double album under 1 banner name of "GFD" or to seperate solo albums "DTFAS/LDICFME" packaged together? I think he's intending it to be all under one banner. If he were to make them separate, he surely would release them separately.

Unattractive Truth
It's amazing how much material he creates. The second clip reminds me a little of Drown with Me. Selfishly, I hope he gets back into the studio with Porcupine Tree soon.

HemispheresserehpsimeH
Well, the new Opeth album is supposed to be less metal also. Much more proggy, 70s inspired stuff. That's what Mikael said about it anyways.
