Same. Easily. Lyrically, "Driven" and "Time And Motion" aren't terrible, though.

I know S&A will get a lot of votes simply because of the subject matter, but I feel it's a thought-provoking and well-written album lyrically if you look past the religious aspect (that's IF that aspect bothers you).

I went Snakes And Arrows, because its so one dimensional and yes, I don't like the subject maater. I have the feeling the new album will be b_sigh.gif more of the same tired rehash.

I think one of Snakes & Arrows' strengths is its lyrics. It's musically where it runs dry, IMO.

Hard choice but I went with counterparts. There are a lot of songs on that album with cringe worthy lines about sex. Its hard to listen to or take seriously.

"She said sure Ill be your partner, but dont make too many demands"

"Sex is not a job description"

Ugh, just awful....

Unless you have an extremely pornographic mind, how is "She said sure Ill be your partner, but dont make too many demands" about sex?

And Alien Shore is not all about sex. It's about rejecting stereotypes. Just sayin'

Yes, "sex is not a job description" refers to gender not sexual acts or prostitution.

It doesnt matter, the lines still sound ridiculous. I just felt like if he was going to explore that topic on an album, just keep it abstract. There's no need to overly describe every little thing, just give us subtle hints at what you're trying to get at and it would help it from sounding so silly. Dont know what he was thinking on that album.

Since when are 2 songs "every song"?

HYF songs that have the phrase "like a":
-Lock and Key..."Ticking like a time bomb"
-Tai Shan..."I stood there like a mystic"

I think that it mainly has to do with the way that they're concentrated right at the beginning.

One stanza from "Force Ten":

We can whirl around like hurricanes,

Dance and dream like lovers,

Attack the day like birds of prey,

Like scavengers undercover.

The entire song is like that. And you also have "like some captain whose ship runs aground" and "like some pilgrim who learns to transcend" in "Time, Stand Still".

I agree totally.

2112....hell he didn't even write all of them. AND the main theme was pretty well ....*ahem* ...borrowed.

S&A probably angers some but as someone else mentioned it is pretty thought provoking...and he risked pissing off those who are now likely voting that one s their #1 choice.
