I'd go, if they were coming close to me. Really like(d) this band!!

Same. I wish they were closer to NY.

...Yes, that was my first time I used the spitwater emoticon.. Hopefully the last too

Not going to lie though, while a lot of their stuff is bad, Steal This Album! was really good, and a select few songs from the other 4 albums (PLUCK, Violent Pornography, Deer Dance..), Not much, but some.. Yet even if they played all my favorite songs of theirs, I wouldn't pay anything over 20 bucks to see them.

hiatus only, great band but politically orientated.

As good as Toxicity is, you guys really need to check out the Mesmerize/Hypnotize double album, it's their last album they put out. It is really good, especially hypnotize. I think the guys really found their sound on those albums. The songs are a little more polished, melodic, and fine tuned than they are on Toxicity.

Call me crazy but I think their guitar player is right up there with Alex Lifeson and David Gilmour in the tone of their playing. He has that same feel to his playing, albeit in a much more frantic and chaotic way.

Surprised there's not more fans going.....although perhaps I shouldn't be considering there's about 100 YES threads getting more responses

ok, ok judging by the thousands of replies this thread has generated you all are very clearly awaiting my review so here goes...

System of a Down delivers! They delivered what the music world is sorely lacking these days...some kick-ass in your face hard core Rock! These guys absolutely know how to punch you in the gut, play their asses off, and give an audience a show with their music

The arena was pretty full with some lawn seats available. Rush played this same arena last year and I'd say it was fuller for Rush but it was close.

System played about 26 songs and they don't muck around. Not a lot of interaction with the audience, not a lot of pyrotechnics or light show, no big screens...just the 4 of them playing. They came onstage about 9:15 and finished about 11:00...2 solid hours with no intermission

I'm 39 and was on the upper end of the age scale with the majority of the crowd 35 and younger...plenty of hotties and plenty of Armenians (the group is Armeinian and a consistent theme in their lyrics is the genocide)

Good mixture from all their albums, old and new, classics and obscure...odd order of the setlist as majority of their most well known songs (BYOB, Hypnotize, Toxicity, Aerials) were just intermittently mixed in...not saved for last or opening. And they are a rare group that does not play an encore.

Serj doesn't say much but has a certain charisma about him where it's hard to take your eyes off him...a real performer.....and of course the other 3 are really fantastic and often overlooked musicians that have some mean chops. I remember reading an interview with the drummer where he said he used to warm up by playing Hemispheres

I really hope we see System rolling again and see a new album from these guys, because talent like this that still knows how to rock is so badly needed in the music industry right now

Sarcasm aside, they are worth checking out. It seems the YES and STYX type threads are endless around here but there is so much new music not in the "rush box" that many of you may be missing. So few responses in this thread, meaning not a whole lot of Rush fans know much about these guys...maybe it's an age thing and I know I'm on the younger side for a Rush fan....but check it out!
