The 9 Worst Tech Movies of All Time

I've only seen 3 of those movies [and 2 of those 3 ended up being pretty bad] because the rest looked like total shit. All I've got to say is that Weird Science has no business being on that list.

Hmm. Antitrust was a pretty forgettable movie, but at least it handled the tech aspect without utterly butchering the suspension of disbelief for anyone who knows anything about computers. Hackers, on the other hand, is firmly in the "so bad it's hilarious" category.

 

Die Hard 4 deserves an honourable mention at least.

 

I'm glad WarGames didn't make the list.

Original "Tron" Yeah yeah i know i'll get roasted for that one but personally i never understood the hype -

 

Along with "Eagle Eye" an all powerful, all seeing surveillance computer tries to take out the entire US government but it can be defeated by poking it in the eye with an metal rod.

 

And i'll have to throw "I' Robot" and "Short Circuit " on that list too

 

 

 

"WestWorld" all time BEST computer based movie -

Whatever the merits or demerits of the films on that list, the articles atrocious. In most cases it completely fails to describe what is bad about the tech merely hinting at bad premises or acting.

Hardware should probably be on that list, but I still love it.

I enjoy hackers but the computer scenes are hard to watch. The net might be the worst one on the list. A tech movie that is still good is Sneakers; Robert redford, sidney poitier, river phoenix, Dan aykroyd, etc....

It was a comedy! It wasn't a tech movie. I think it made the list because some nerds saw it and actually tried to make a girl from what they saw in the movie and were upset that it didn't work.

The Net and Swordfish are the worst on this list, because they were actually trying to be serious. Johnny Mnemonic is an abortion of a great noir story, and Weird Science is from 1985!! Edited March 28, 2011 by -Jane-

I agree with you a billion percent RUSHHEAD! I just hate the bit where some Matrix fans go on about how I didn't "get it" [as if it could be cerebral with Keanu Reeves as its star anyways]. And ooohhhh slo-mo different angles action scenes with sleek and sexy costumes and tech . Yeah, I "got it"...I got that it was pure shit!!!
