Sorry Earl, I know you're not a HP fan, but;

Order of the Phoenix was definitely a better film. The book was too long, especially for my 13 year old self - reading it on a summer holiday made me feel as if the holiday was long, uneventful and boring.

Now to Bond. I reckon the 2006 version of Casino Royale is better than the book, and I really like some of the added bits of From Russia With Love, like the boat chase to Italy. That's a suprise for me as the novel is superb and probably the best of the Fleming series.

It's cool bud!

My oldest daughter thought all the books were better than the movies.

Now as for Bond books and movies that is an interesting take.

I've never read the Bond books. Shame on me.

I always just assumed the movies were at least equal to the books.

I thought the movie for Angels & Demons was much more interesting than the book. The reverse is true for the DaVinci Code - book was way better than the movie. Looking forward to Lost Symbol being made into a movie - I thought the book was the best of the three.

The book > Movie for me. Sorry but it's my favorite Harry Potter book and to think that it's the longest book but the shortest movie and they left out SO much.

I've yet seen a HP movie that was better than the book. smilies-8579.png

Thanks to Mara's "Twilight" Thread I was thinking are there really movies out there that are better than the book?

"A Clockwork Orange" Kubrick

Disagree. The movie IS a masterpiece but there's something a lot grittier, scarier, and realistic about the book that the film just couldn't cover. In addition, the Kubrick version doesn't include Burgess' 21st chapter that's essential to the story.

If anything, I think of the film as a bonus to the book...but never better.

All in all, A Clockwork Orange is not only in my top 10 books but also in my top 10 films of all time. I probably can only say that of only one more book/film: Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas
