As a kid, I always loved buttered toast sprinkled with cinnamon-sugar. I could kill half a loaf of bread that way! Can't do that anymore! lol

I could. If I suddenly decided I wanted to be as big as a house, no problem!

True confessions ... I had a weakness for Cinnamon/Sugar toast in my yout, er youth. biggrin.gif Welcome to the board BTW and bekloppt.gif Mara!

"Did you say 'yout'? What's a yout?"

My yout ... I believe was a Joe Peschi-ism ... cannot remember the movie title ... and/or could be mistaken ... wink.gif

yout = youth ... as in, back in my youth

I just might be leaking/lacking brain cells

Did I miss the context?

EOM.

You missed it a teeny bit. 73's response was actually a quote from the movie - Jason Robards as the judge.

The movie was "My Cousin Vinny" starring Joe Pesci, with Fred Gwynne as the judge.

I'd rather use butter than margarine. Oh, I make better scrambled eggs that restaurants. For one, I put the salt and pepper in the mix before I start cooking. The eggs then have some flavor. To add salt and pepper after it's been cooked just takes like eggs with pepper and salt added.

CT, I do the same. I found if I use kosher salt and freshly ground pepper it is even better. Do you do it that way?

That sounds brilliant, CT! I'm definately following in your poultry footsteps trink39.gif

How about fried eggs using bacon grease? 1287.gif

Hey CT, how about cooking me breakfast tomorrow? biggrin.gif

I'm fresh out of bacon grease. laugh.gif

sounds good though doesn't it?

As far as salt and pepper, it is the usual salt and pepper shaker variety.

Oh, I typically scramble or fry eggs with butter.

Sabrina is eating buttered and jellied toast as we speak. And that was before she saw this thread! ohmy.gif

In my opinion, buttered muffins are better wink.gif

QUOTE (Mara @ Jun 16 2010, 10:25 PM) QUOTE (-D-RocK- @ Jun 16 2010, 06:29 AM) I like to smear a nice dark brown food paste onto my toast.

mmmmm

One of my company's owners is a New Zealander. He does love his vegemite.

What the Aussies and Newzies see in vegemite I'll never get. Just a waste of toast putting that crap on it imho

It was cultural night recently at one of my kids schools. A neighbor from Australia was there and she had a tray of saltines with a thin thayer of vegemite on them. I had to try it. I. Fell. In. Love. I spent the rest of the night trying my hardest not to ravage the entire tray of those crackers. It was so good I had to drive to the store right after the event to find my own jar. It's fantastic on a piece of toast with margarine.
