red sector animal
24th of May, sitting in the sand to watch the Fireworks display.. Anyone hanging out at the real Lakeside park tonight just for fun's sake? Anyone near there? I could go to a nearby Lakeside park about 120 miles East of the one they wrote the song about. Its a fun drive down the parkway in my classic cruiser, but it's kinda late now, so I probably wont venture out there.

circumstantial tree
QUOTE (cygnus_thegodofbalance @ May 24 2010, 08:58 PM) I live about 20 minutes away from Port Dalhousie. Great, amazing place to hang out. So much fun. That said, I'm not going tonight I visited there several years ago and it is a great place to hang out. I hung out on the pier and rode the merry-go-round. I get the feeling that Lakeside Park was in disrepair when Neil wrote it and has since been revived? Back in Rocky Mount, NC, where I'm from originally, we had Sunset Park which overlooked the Tar River. Back in the 70's it was filled with people enjoying the day, usually the weekend. There was a few swing sets as well as a children's museum, a merry-go-round and a small train for kids. For adults, there places for picnics and tennis courts and small food stands. Overtime, people stopped going and it became place for drug activity and gangstas.
