I'm confused about parking now.

I have a handicapped-accessible ticket that I have to pick up at Will Call. Very long story, but I don't presently have a handicapped parking placard.

So where in the Sam Hill do I park? Last concert I was a passenger http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/tongue.gif

Ride over with someone from the party might be easiest http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif Unless Champps will tow me.

Since I've got a camping tent waiting for me outside Lafayette, I'm not getting a motel room.

Outside Lafayette GA? That is where I'm leaving from.

Nice coincidence!

I'm one of those weirdos who'll be at Cherokee Farms for the Southeast Regional version of Burning Man. Alchemy: The Georgia Burn http://www.alchemyfestival.com

So after the show I switch names from "Red-Barchetta" to "Tangent" (I'm the Greeter Team Lead). Haven't decided whether to wear my Safety Third tshirt to the show ... it WOULD stand out among all the Rush gear.

My friends onsite expect me to show up in a Rush shirt http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif

Sounds like fun! I'm driving to the show by myself and meeting my daughter at Champps. Let me know if your interested in car pooling!

I'm not sure whether I'll have time to stop by the event site to unload gear or not. Am coming from an hour the Nashville side of Chattanooga.

What time are you leaving?

If that end doesn't work, a carpool from Champps to the concert (assuming Champps wouldn't tow me, that is) would be great.

I was thing about leaving around 2:00. I would like to beat most of the Atlanta traffic. As far as a ride to the show from Champps, no problem. My daughter is leaving her car there so I will be going back after the show anyway.

Awesome show guys. Awesome show.

x infinity! As stated in the closing video, "that was such a sweet, ass set!"

Couple of items:

-I left late and almost missed the start of the show. So glad they didn't start at 8!!!!

-You know you're at a Rush concert at Encore Park when it rains!!! Had I not brought a bag for my stuff, I would have two messed up programs (my 07 program got a little wet thanks to some drunk who spilled his beer http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/angry.gif ). Really wanted the poster but I spent enough ($65) plus it would have been ruined.

The Champps meetup was fantastic! I got to meet Rush Cocky, JustAnEscapeArtist, John Dyar and his daughter Samantha, KidGloves, her mom Presto!, and her dad, tupelobarchetta, GG and her husband (whom I had met before), and Cowtothesky (who looks completely not like I'd imagined, lol). Apologies if I've left anyone out or misspelled a username.

Thanks again to tupelobarchetta for setting this up and reserving the room!

It was awesome to meet Tupelobarchetta, Mara, her husband, and various other Rush people. I also met up with Xanadu93 before the show.

And of course it was great to see GG and her husband again. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/trink39.gif

Actually considerably younger-looking than I'd had pictured in my head! Not that I'd envisioned you as a doddering old geez or anything. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/no.gif

I've got a complete video I recorded on the show with two different cameras, so i'll be editing it into a single recording, cleaning up the sound and other Misc work and possibly releasing it. Just wanted to give you guys a heads up.

For those of you who expressed concern about my wife and I driving back home (4 1/2 hrs) after the show...we made it just fine. We took a little detour and enjoyed a great meal at the Marietta Diner (featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives") before heading back to Columbus. Talk about a little fortification for the trip! (and much needed caffiene)

It was great, as always, to meet some of you guys...or see you again. Wish we had been able to make it to Chammps earlier...we might've been able to meet/greet more of you. I do hate Atlanta traffic. Thanks again, Bobby, for getting all that set up.

It was our 1st trip to the venue...I'd give it a thumbs-up. A particular difference between last night and the last couple of times I went to the used-to-be Lakewood Amphitheater: friendly staff. Very nice people at Encore Park...last time I went to Lakewood we were made to feel not unlike "fresh fish" at Shawshank. (S&A tour opener, for those who were there and got to enjoy being repeatedly shouted at about what we couldn't do or have while we stood in 100 degree heat)

As far as the show was concerned: fantastic. So amazing to finally see The Camera Eye...I loved how they played and tinkered with some of the tunes, especially Marathon...which I'm guessing sounded a lot more like Alex might've wanted it. The videos were hilarious, as well.

Honestly, though, even if it had somehow been sub-par (yeah, right), I don't think I would've minded that much: we had to sell our St. Louis tickets after my wife lost her job and we couldn't afford the trip...but we figured out how to make this work...and even though it was a quick there-and-back, we had a great time with our favorite band, some good people (incl. a couple from Belgium seeing Rush for the 1st time), and great food, too. Looking forward to the Clockwork Angels tour in 2011!

Ditto on all that! Sorry I'm a little bit late on responding here, but I didn't get home and in the bed until 5am Thursday morning, and then I had to get right back up and get my son ready and take him to school. Needless to say, I spent much of the day on Thursday sleeping!

But this was a great event, and it seemed like the number was closer to 50 to me. But it was great to finally meet so many that I've chatted with here. Hopefully I wasn't too intrusive, and I really didn't come to eat your food, but thanks to Mara's husband for the offer! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

And Kid Gloves......I thought I recognized you, but I couldn't quite put a name with the face. FWIW, I was the one with the black shirt sitting next to Mara. At any rate to GhostGirl, Mara, FriendlyVoice, TupeloBarchetta, Cowtothesky, and all others that may or may not post at TRF thanks so much for the company. And of course to my lifelong buddy Just An Escape Artist (JAEA), I don't have the words for what your friendship means to me. It's great to be among so many who have the same passion for Rush that I do! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/2.gif

As for the show itself.....aside from the later than expected start (I was very anxious to see them again as JAEA can tell you). I tried to pass the time by striking up conversations with those around me, and I met George and Donna who were each at their very first Rush show! Donna was familiar with the band as she had heard a lot of their "more popular" songs, but with the recent purchase of S&A Live had recently been able to hear some of the deeper cuts on the albums which enabled her to discover the band on a whole new level. And how sweet is this....she was taking her hubby to see the concert as a birthday present. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/wub.gif True love right there! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

And as usual the boys did not disappoint. By the way, did anyone else here find the show a bit loud? That was the first thing that I noticed as they progressed through the set. At any rate my highlight of the night was hearing Moving Pictures, my all-time #1 album PERIOD, in it's entirety. When they started playing "The Camera Eye" I nearly cried. I was just overwhelmed that they were finally....FINALLY....playing this hidden gem in a live setting!!! I would say that was my favorite song of the night, and right after that was Leave That Thing Alone (Geddy just WENT OFF at the end of that one!!!!! Both JAEA and I LOVED that, but he more so because he is a bass player). Also a favorite was hearing Caravan live....what a great track that's turning out to be. Hearing Marathon live was just absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I love that song more than ever now, and as of 9/29/2010 it is officially my favorite track on Power Windows.

On the minus side, my least favorite of the night was "Faithless". It just didn't come of well live at ALL for me! I didn't care for the track from the get-go mainly because of it's anti-God overtones, but it just sounded worse live. Maybe it was the lawn, I don't know. Another track that didn't impress me was BU2B. But Freewill? JAEA and I were both very impressed that Geddy hit the high notes on the whole "cell of awareness" section, and that one was as good as it's ever been. And was it just me, or did La Villa Strangiato sound rushed (no pun intended)? It seemed like they were in a hurry and it didn't come off very well. Maybe they were just getting tired, or maybe since it was the end of the tour they are losing some endurance.....I don't know, but it just didn't seem to have that "oomph" to me.

But anyway, it was great show and I'm glad that I went. I had determined beforehand to make the most of this opportunity, especially at the meet and greet. And of course on the last number, the rain started to come. Bad news for ol' Rush Cocky, because it was cool and was wearing shorts and this old bird is very susceptible to colds and such. Forutnately, my new-found friends in George and Donna turned out to be my saviors in a sense, for they both had umbrellas and were willing to share! That kept me from getting too terribly wet, although I still wasn't totally dry either when I arrived back home in Columbia. I took some Nyquil the next morning and slept into Thursday afternoon, and it appears I have no ill effects.

Anyway, thanks once again to all of you who made this a very special night! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif

Did you guys notice. . .

If anyone still needs proof that Rush shows are a "sausage-fest" (to use a term I've heard slung around on the board) - did you get a look at the bathroom lines at intermission? http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

Women were walking right in, then two minutes later right back out. No line.

The line for the guys' bathrooms was around the corner. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/rofl3.gif

We noticed.

When my friend Mary she saw the men's line, she said, "Wow, I've never seen this before." I looked at the long line and had thoughts about asking Mary if I could go into the ladies room with her. I decided to wait.

I plan to post the photos later tonight. They're up on Facebook right now only because it's easier to upload. I'll have to remember my photo host password before I can post here.

I'll also go into more detail about the meet-up.
