"Aja" Backwards Is "Aja." The Greatest Steely Dan

The bar was set WAY high with Gadd. I know that my dad (not a big rock fan, more of a jazz and blues man) even took notice when my sister spun Aja. We were just kids. She "borrowed" the album from her best friend's brother, and put it on our new Christmas present, a something or other stereo that had to stay in the hall between our bedrooms so we wouldn't fight over it. The speakers were a little more powerful than we expected. Mom was aggravated but tolerant, and Dad wanted to know what we were listening to. trink39.gif

I was introduced to Aja via my sister. I think she bought the album to impress someone or to appear cool to a group of friends. She never listened to it. I did. biggrin.gif

I'm listening to it as I type this...it's so very mellow.

i use this album to relax me - and it totally does. it brings me back decades as well - it has a real sense of time/place. the music is *so* good...
