Budweiser American Ale

They're definitely trying to tap into that craft beer market. But there's no way, with the way they mass-produce beer with cheap ingredients, that they'll be able to compete with Sam Adams and Sierra Nevada and other brewers who started out small but still brew a quality product even after upscaling their production.

I'll try this just to give it a fair shake, but I'm not expecting much. AB is clearly looking for some respect from serious beer drinkers. They tried that with Budweiser Select, and I don't think it worked. We'll see if it works with this.

I can't afford to drink serious beers all the time.....

It might be made with cheap stuff, but if this is at a reasonable price, and will deliver Ale quality, it might be worth it.

Biggest bang for your buck......etc.

I am curious about the ale myself. While AB is mass-produced, they do have some of the top brewmasters in the world. It is about time they let them loose to create some good concotions.

Also, AB has been making braft beers for a couple years now, they just don't market them as much nor do they give them the "Budweiser" name. They have some pretty good stuff, but I am continually dismayed at the fact that Bud Light is the top seller. Come on? I had one on Friday and it might as well have been seltzer water. 062802puke_prv.gif confused13.gif

I have had many that were marked as "Test Beer"

They also own Widmer Bros and Redhook.

Like Budweiser, I bet.

The Horse Piss typeface reminds me of the lettering used for the offshoot soft drinks sold only at Walmart and Sam's.

Have any of you guys tried Shiner Bock?

I don't want to say that we can't brew good beer in Ky...but we can't brew good beer in Ky.

It's best we stick to Bourbon.

I saw an advertisment on TV that mentioned it to be available in September. Well its the 25th today and I have not seen in anywhere in SE Michigan. Has anybody tried it? How much for a 6-pack? I wonder if it it Beechwood aged like normal Bud...I'll drink a 6-pack of any beer to try it out.

If this is going to be one of those hoppy pale ale types, forget it.
